Just a follow-up to "Debt Defender".  Good info but also, if you can (everyone) block these types of numbers.  I have *519900* on a permanent block so when ARC attempted to contact me I only knew about it from my logs.  On their end, or from their end, they get a permanent busy signal when calling me.  Secondly, ARC is a bottom of the barrel collection agency.  You'll likely only hear from them after your debt becomes legally uncollectible.  BUT, if you make a 'Good Faith' payment to any collection agency you have acknowledged a debt and begun the clock on it then again becoming collectible via courts.  ARC buys old dead debts and preys on the average persons not knowing this and so has some success.  That in no way makes their thug tactics okay.  Block and ignore them if you can and they will go away.  If you answer once they identify say "I don't take unsolicited calls" and hang up, no conversation, no acknowledgement of a debt.  Otherwise, read what my namesake has to say.  S/he is correct.

Thanks Debt Defender for the reminder that most debt collectors are scammers! ARC has been calling one of our numbers unsuccessfully for at least 12 years, so they don't 'go away'. Guess times are tough in the Scam Debt Collection business!

I had to 'call log' their number(s) also - as advised by the helpful folks on 800notes.com, because it isn't us that they are trying to reach. But today is the first time ARC has used a 519 are code, which is why I am on this site today!

Just got a phone call from them today.  I didn't get to pick it up, as I was busy.  
I'm not sure if this phone call today was connected to the fact that I just changed my number yesterday or not.  Hopefully, they won't call me again.  If so, at least I now know what I can do about it & how to respond.
