    The scam began with an advertisement for a Peloton bike on Craigslist. The advertisement indicated to text 520-442-1505 for information on the bike. On August 26, 2021, I texted this number for information on the bike and the person asked for my email so that her husband can email me more information about the bike. I received an email from Sean Carroll (sfcll@comcast.net) with more information regarding the bike. Throughout the exchange of emails, Sean indicated that he had wasted his time driving from Wawona, California to the Los Angeles area with potential buyers who did not keep their word. Sean told me he was going to post it on eBay and it was going to be a private listing for me to buy with eBay gift cards.  He emailed me the eBay link.  He still has ads on Craigslist and baits victims into the eBay link.
