Caller said his name was John from PayDay Loans and that my loan was approved.  I said I didn't apply for a loan, and he said yes I did.  I told him I knew it was a scam, and I asked him to fax me a copy of my application and he said 'one moment please' and then hung up!!!

Said they were from Payday loan and needed to verify my personal information to finalize my loan.

Awakened by a 6:20 a.m. unidentified caller to my cell phone stating my $10,000 loan was approved. I stated that I did not apply for a loan - they hung up. There was a great deal of background noise from the caller's location - and I doubt it was from Santa's elves workshop.

Just received call from this number, but didn't answer. Called number back and woman answered saying she had received calls from other people saying they were returning her call, but she hadn't called anyone. She asked me what number the call had come from, I asked her what number she was at as I reached her at the number that had called me. She refused to divulge that info, and hung up.

Within seconds of hanging up, got a call from an "unknown" number saying my warranty had expired and he needed my cc info to re-up it.  

Several calls from this and other bogus numbers all claiming that loan for which we did not apply has been approved.  Scam fishing for personal information.  Asked to be taken off call list but they just switch to another number and call back with same harassing phone call.  Foreign speaker.  We are standing by for the next call with an air horn.

Have received several calls with no message from this #.  I don't know anyone in Mexico.

Just received a phone call from this number.  Person had an Indian accent and said my loan application had been approved and asked how much did I want, two-thousand dollars?  I said I did not fill out any application.  He hung up immediately without saying anything else.

I tell them that I don't have a computer. So far, they keep calling.

I just thought that I would mention to everyone that there is a scam going on via phone. The numbers you may see pop up on your caller ID include “50001”, “5129653287”, and now “9162826934”, "5213697851", which are all linked to one scam. The scam is related to a grant from either the Federal Reserve Bank or the non-existent Federal Grant Department. I have been getting calls since yesterday. Please do not fall prey to these scam artists. The grants are not real and the Federal Government does not call you out of the blue. Please report any and all calls to the FCC on their website for complains, which is http://www.fcc.gov/complaints.

Got calls from this number. Supposedly "the government" decided they wanted to give me a $9,000 grant. SCAM!!!
Has called from multiple numbers. (500-01, 916-282-6934, unknown, etc.) Nine times in two days. Only answered three times. Two times it was a woman and the other a man. Both had similar accents, but the man said his name was "Steve Cox."  I do not believe that is what his mother calls him.
My worry is that someone will fall for this crazy scheme. "The government" doesn't give grants. Specific departments of the government do give grants, but one must complete a lengthy application for a grant. In other words, you know when you have applied for one.

received several calls from this number about being approved for a 10k loan when I mentioned I wasnt interested I was cursed out then he made very nasty comments about what he wanted to do to me and keeps calling--disgusted!

They tried to get me to speak to a loan executive. I just told them not to call me anymore and hung up. They called right back as a blocked number. When my voice mail picked up it was the same automated message "press 2 to speak to a loan executive." I just bought a couple of groupons, I'm assuming they got my number from their database because I just started recieving these calls today.

At some ungodly hour in the morning, I got a call from this number. When I picked up, a heavily accented man asked for Cynthia. I don't even know a Cynthia so I told him wrong number, but he asked for her again, so I repeated myself and he hung up.
Great way to start the morning, no?

I didn't recognize the number, so I didn't answer. They didn't leave a message.

Said I was preapproved for a personal loan, when I said I wasn't interested he said "don't hang up I like your voice," then he turned creepy and asked me how old I was.

Numerous calls from the same foreign guy today, all telling me I can have a personal loan.  I told him each time to stop calling here and he hangs up on me.  You can't cal back because "your call cannot be completed as dialed."
