Wife got a call asking for me and when asked who was calling he hung up.

Same thing just happened to me with this number

Get this call at least twice a day but I never answer the call since caller I'd let's me know that I don't recognize the number. Scam I'm sure.

I just got such a call and it was dead air.  This was right after a call in which a machine asked my name.

(551) 226-6765 is a VOIP number in Jersey City, NJ (New York City area).  The first call was from a listed Philadelphia phone number, which would not have a machine asking your name.  It's possible that this person can spoof the Caller ID.

They called, no one there. A faint sound of electronics in the distance, I hung up. As a consumer I would like to buy software that reverse hacks these people and outs them to the police.

Caller was asking for contributions for the wounded veterans. He said organization was the Purple Heart Wonded Veterans organization. Scam I'm sure

They called today and asked me for $ and my credit card I info!, asking to contribute for our falling soldiers  and was extremely rude!!!, then yelled at me! When I wasn't compliant to giving my credit card #!!

Purple hearts is a legit  company, if it was them in certain areas were there ar large populations of vets we put things out for purple heart to collect ,they have always called me with a 908 or 201 number

The caller said from military service

Caller asked for donation for wounded solders veterans and something with Purple Heart. I said I only make donations via websites. He gave me the name of a website address (that address appeared to be non-existent) and then he said that the site doesn't take online donations. That's when I knew for sure it was a scam. He then tried again to persuade me to make a donation over the phone and when I declined he hang up in middle of sentence.

This number has been calling our home daily for the last week.  Anoying, but I just don't answer because I feel it's just some kind of scam since they never leave a message.
