Left a message on my house phone, something about legal action for tax evasion. Complete scam! We pay file taxes on time or early every year!

Make with a very heavy accent called, I could not understand everything, but he LM that he was an officer with the US Treasury calling to notify me of legal action taken against me, & to call him back at 559-203-7078. The number that appeared on my Caller ID was a former Treasury Dept phone number. Clever scammers!

Heavy Indian accent asked if I had received my CB503 IRS form and IRS action already started. Had my name wrong did not ask for any other info and told me I had miscalculated tax returns two specific years could not answer my pointed questions. Informed him I had life lock!

Said she was US Treasury and the federal charges and legal action were started on us for tax evasion

Same call from same number, 559-203-7078.  Fairly menacing sound from "U.S. Treasury Officer" about proceedings 'already begun against' me. Caller with heavy accent.  My tax filing has been current and accurate every year.  Total scam.

Male with foreign accent said he was calling from Legal Affairs U.S. Treasury about federal charges and legal action.  Is there a way to block the 559-203-7078 number on my phone?

Got a call from 559 203 7878 CA said they were with the US Treasury regarding tax evasion and to call them at 559 203 7078. Knew that was a mistake and found out this number has been used in a lot of scams.  And since when does the US Tressury do business out of Clovis CA?

Received all at 3 PM on Saturday from man with Indian accent (gave name as Lee Jones) saying that he was from IRS, that I had to pay back taxes  from 2005-2009, that I shouldn't call my accountant, and that police were coming to arrest me in half an hour.  Call came on non-working Dept of Treasury number 202-622-3000, when asked Indian said 5592037078

The calls are coming from hardcore criminals operating out of overseas boiler rooms using computers to alter their identities and locations and out of the reach of US law enforcement. Do not call them back or attempt to engage them in a coherent conversation, as all they are interested in extorting money for nonexistent debts. And, if you pay them, not only will you never see your money again--but they will more than likely attempt to extort even more money from you. A local woman who paid them 5K is now receiving death threats if she does not pay them another 1K. If they call again, just hang up and block the number (if you have that capability) and report them to the REAL IRS online or (855) 411-CFPB (2372).

202-622-3000 was the number that the voice mail was from. Told me to call 559-203-7078. Talked to two different indian males. The name in the voice mail sounded like Harry Nelson. The person I first talked to stated his name was Jack Amos (sp?), the second person I talked two I did not understand his name. On one hand, VERY helpful answering my questions. On the other, refused to send me anything in the mail. Told me if I hung up, the arrent warrent would be issued - no questions, no other options AND stated that I had to stay on the phone with them until I had the IT Vouchers (never understood this part) in my hand. I know I gave them too much information in my panic... just have to protect myself the best I can now. They have my work and home address, as well as my cell phone number.

Note - I should add, they already had my address... I acutally did not have to give it to them.

I almost got scammed by the same guy

05-12-2016. 2pm   I too received a message from a Lee jones (heavy Indian accent) who claimed to be from the treasury dept. left this # to call back (347) 980- 7930
When I called, I got the exact story as above and the police would be at my home within the hour. I asked what could I do to avoid jail. He said he would connect me to his manager. Once connected, Stan Jackson, also heavy Indian accent, said he was the only one who can stop the arrest order, and if I was willing to make payments. he then stated that I could call (ca) 559 203-7078 to verify my case # . He urged that I call from another phone so that I wouldn't hang up, and that he would give me five minutes, or else would pursue the arrest order. I then realized this had to be FRAUD and hung up.

Idiot called me n left a text message to call back at5592037051.so I called back said the Treasury Dept. Is after me for tax evasion..Since when does Treasury Dept go after u for taxes .isn't that the IRS.s job?told him to send a registered letter to me  to explain the details why. And hung up on the [***]!!! We will see what happens next. Gonna call the Treasury Dept n make them aware of these idiots cause people who don't know any better r gonna get scammed by these [***]!!!
