Someone named Candace sent me a text from a different number. saying they wanted me to call them back from this number to collect my credit card debt. I have no credit card debt.

FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD!!!! I got a text from someone names Candice as well about credit card debt and there was a number in the text so I called them. They have name so if you get contacted by these scammers, they probably have your name too. They claimed they are called "Credit Services" and can help eliminate interest and cut your debt in half. Luckily I don't have any debt, but I played along with them to see what they are trying to scam people. They ask if you have $10k or more in debt, are you making payments, etc etc. They then ask you to "verify" you DOB. DO NOT give them your real DOB, more than likely they do not have it and are phishing in hopes that you will give it to them. They then say "okay, looks like you qualify, I will transfer you to a financial specialist to go over your options." The financial specialist immediately asked me for my SSN. I hope this goes without saying, but DO NOT GIVE ANYONE OVER THE PHONE YOUR SOCIAL, EVER!!! I instead asked for more information about their company and if they have a website so I can view their info for myself. Surprise surprise they said they are not allowed or able to give that information.... LOL a company not able to provide you with a website?! If you are ever told something like this you should know it is 100% a scam. Once I started asking too many questions for their liking, they hung up on me. I don't know what their end game is exactly. I don't know if they sell off you DOB and SSN if you give it to them or they try to get a large sum of money from you up front but either way if you give them your social security number, it is not going to be good for you. Do not fall for this!
