Four South Florida men are going before a federal judge tomorrow after being arrested in what investigators call a mortgage scam.

Christopher Godfrey, 42, Dennis Fischer, 40, Vernell Burris, Jr., 51 and Brian Kelly, 34, all of Palm Beach County, were charged with conspiracy, wire fraud, mail fraud and misuse of a government seal. The indictment was unsealed in Boston federal court.

Investigators say the company, Home Owners Protection Economics or HOPE charged people who were saddled with mortgages they could not afford up to $900 for a do-it-yourself application form. It's nearly identical to a form that's provided by the U.S. government free of charge. In most cases, the applications were denied by lenders.

I was also scamed, I tried my best to dispute the charges on my CC but it was too late. I called several times sopke to many workers and actually spoke to Vernell,  all of them being so rude and righteous to me, said what they did was leagal and there was nothing I could do about it , he was not returning and hung up on me!  So that I did not have nervous break down from stress, my husband said lets put it to rest after almost a year fighting for my money back at the tune of $895.00 and learn an expensive lesson.  I had thought about writing to the President about this, but then I thought, he would not do anything for me about this and why add salt to the wound!
I learned now to read between the lines on SCAMS,  an expensive lesson to be learned!
