- why| 2 repliesWhy do they keep calling? Does it really work for any of these sobs? Just got this new phone setup & number from Comcast & almost immediately received calls from this number (562-289-8164) & from that darn 800 service one!! Does Comcast immediately sell out numbers? It's crazy. I have never turned on answer machine, never answered any calls of either & registered on the gov 'do not call' list, but they continue on.
- why replies to whyForgot about another one, that Viking Magazine one until I just got another call from them! Also a couple others too.
- maitregI just got a new Verizon line 10 days ago and have received 18 calls from this number in the past 3 days (started 7 days after phone connected). I answered once, and waited for about 15-20 seconds, but nobody was there. The calls kept coming.
If you call the number, it says to press 1 to remove your number from their list. - JayNew phone number 10 days ago, just got a call unsolicited from these folks. Did not answer. No info on caller ID other than number.
Registered on "do not call registry", but it hasn't taken effect yet...- Caller: unknown
- CosmoI received a call from them at 5:00pm, left no message. I am on the do not call list. I just reported them.
- Shanedidnt answer. started calling after i switched to AT&T. literally the day i got my service turned, on, them and the viking magazine
- KandyYes, Fraudulent incoming calls from SCAMMERS. I also started getting them 20 minutes after I got my Verizon Land Line. When I called them back & hit the "1" for them to get me OFF of their calling list? It got much worse. I actually got another call in minutes of my call to them. Verizon denied giving out my new #. I think they do sell our phone #'s. I have gotten calls from many different phone #'s with different SCAMS. Especially mine, since it is supposed to be in an unlisted status. Hopefully, Some day the Phone Companies will all be fined for giving out our phone #'s for profit/hopefully those clucks in Washington will create a law for this disgraceful display of non professionalism by these huge corporations.

- MegalodonShark24I've been getting calls from this number since I moved to a new apartment and had my number changed. Have no idea why they're calling and I have no desire to answer it, so they should just give it up! And I don't think Comcast has anything to do with it because I don't even have Comcast.
- Annoyed in TNReceived 6 calls in a row from this number. I would answer and it would begin ringing on the other end. I just hung up. VERY ANNOYING!!!
- adaThey told me they were from Dish Network. Keep calling, even after I said to remove me from their list.

- hermit in NYme every day. I've called back and pressed "1" three times over 3 weeks.
I have recently moved and have a new phone # from a small company in upstate NY, I don't think it is their fault, rather someone able to see new #'s assigned (listed and unlisted). I registerd with "DO NOT CALL" and will file complaints as soon as I can (with full documentation of every time they have called).- Caller: SVCS

- Pall times of the day they call I'm on national list for no calls for years and they never stop

- Phone guy| 2 repliesThe phone company is not selling your number. They announce, as required by FCC regulations, every new NPA-NXX that they open up. (NPA = Number Plan Arrangement or, to the rest of us, Area Code).
Scammers get this information from the FCC database, it's public knowledge information. They then program their auto dialers to start pounding calls to every possible number combination that is available. My new phone line was getting calls from spammers for weeks before it was activated.
When you press "1" to be removed, you have just verified that this is now a working number and the scammers can sell it to other scammers based upon that knowledge.
When you answer and get nobody there it's because one of the four calls launched for the attendant was answered before yours. Since they have nowhere to send that call now, you get dead air. All of the scammers are dialing at least 4 calls for every attendant they have on duty.
They are going to continue to call you until they ave a reason not to.
Your best move is to ignore the call and, if possible, block it from ringing through. AT&T allows you to block up to 20 numbers from connecting. Check with your service.
Your next best move is to report the calls to your local phone company as harrassment. They can work with the long distance carriers- Caller: SVCS

- Phone Guy replies to Phone guyOh...and for those of you on the "Do Not Call" list,
Crooks do not follow the law. They don't care about the laws on calling you, they only care about their next big score. they know that by the time you get mad enough to take any action, there is no way they can be traced. They are using VoIP and can move every day if the need to.
It's just like with banning guns....the law abiding citizens will follow the law, they always have. The crooks never have and will now celebrate that their targets are unarmed.
Crooks are crooks...they don't follow the law ever. they are not going to start now. It's time you fend for yourself by ignoring their calls or blocking them.
Perhaps if you got the FCC chairmans phone number and started spam calling him, you'd get attention, but sadly, I don't think it would get the issue fixed. - DeanI too keep getting these claas from CA wireless but the lady said she was in Ohio. As soon as I said is your number 562 she hung out. I want to strangle them. 562-289-8164. I went to Viking Magazines websit since others said they kept receiving calls from them. I found a number on there site. Does anyone know if this 562 number is linked to viking magazine?
