- JM| 1 replySame here. I initially got text messages from that number wanting something I posted on craigslist as well. She claims her name is Beth Parker.
- It's a scam replies to JMTried to scam me and others via a Craigslist ad. Wants to buy sight unseen by mailing a check. Also only wants to communicate via text with the same bogus copy/paste messages.
- Damond ConnorAfter posting a Craigslist ad, I got an email from Beth Parker, asking me to text her at this number because she doesn't check email. I always Google phone numbers from Craigslist. Thanks to this website, I replied to the email and told her (him?) to f**k off. Thanks everyone.

- Fed Up| 1 replyScammer! Fake name "Beth Parker" replied to my Craigslist add. Phone # (587) 316-2766
"She" emailed me through Craigslist and wanted me to text "her"...wanted to mail me check for my "item"
"she" did not describe. Said "she" was out out town and would send me a check. For me to send "her"
my name and address and once the check cleared "she" would arrange for pick up. I didn't fall for it.
This is called the Nigerian 101 Scam. Report it! - kirk replies to Fed UpShe is a busy little b!tch. Got it too.
Email was an obvious scam but I still googled the number. - JTGot an email in response to a Craigslist ad asking me to respond by text to this number.. Listed as Beth Parker as well
- SaddieYup! She sure is getting around! She emailed me about 30 mins ago asking me to text her @ 587-316-2766, and to do the same. I remember this same scam going around for the last 4 yrs, and it's always around the holidays! I reported the incident to CL and hope all did the same.

- Teresa| 2 repliesI got the same from Beth Parker. Problem is I was unaware of the scam so sent my name and address from my phone. So what happens now? I also placed ad in craigslist.
- Caller: Beth Parker
- not Michael replies to Teresa| 1 replyApparently Beth Parker is a scammer. The way her scam works, she offers to buy the stuff you are selling. She wants to over-pay, with you sending the over-payment to a shipper she has selected. She pays by a check that bounces or by Paypal, sending you a notice that looks like its from Paypal but it really from her. She does not put any money in your Paypal account.
You wire her shipper friend the shipping fee. Then you discover her payment is fake. Her check to you bounces. You have to pay your bank the whole check plus a bounced check fee. She vanishes, never to be found. She and her friend, the shipper, split the overpayment.
If all she has is your name and address she can't scam you. She'll e-mail and snami-mail and call often, but thats all she can do. Ignore her.
If you gave her any of your banking information, change it. Do it now, before she empties the account. - Teresa replies to not MichaelThank you. I did not send account info. I feel much better
- johannderzweite| 1 replyThe busy [***] Beth cost me $0.25 for an international AT&T call with the same scam. My son posted some items on CL and received an email from the [***] "Beth" and replied to her text, costing $0.25. Also he received a text from 587-316-2766, but AT&T did not charge. I hope we hear no more from Beth other than something negative for her --- like the Royal Mounties have her.
- not Michael replies to johannderzweiteBeth probably isn't in Canada. She's in India, Pakistan, or Africa. Thats why she won't communicate by phone - she doesn't want you to hear her heavily-accented English.
Beth may be a he, not a she. Thats another thing you won't notice if you only communicte by text.
