- willow| 3 repliesContinue to receive calls from 603-285-9163 JOHN claims I have a prepaid Medical Alert system and needs my shipping address. Options of "1" to give the shipping address and "5" to NOT be called again. Won't do the "1" option, but the "5" option doesn't seem to keep them from calling. Called The Dover Police Department, but they just recommend to hang up on them. Advising it was a SCAM, but I already knew that...was hoping that they could possibly do something, since the phone was listed as a landline in Dover. Just hope people will pass the word to the elderly and anyone that doesn't have internet access to see such reports.
My next step is notifying Medical Alert, since it is their product.- Call type: Telemarketer
- Billie replies to BotheredThe callers that didn't speak when you answered, were the medic alert for seniors scammers. There is an article in the current AARP Bulletin warning of, and explaining the scam, that is well worth the reading.
- Chris replies to willowI just tried to dial back. Number not in service. Cute. Not only spam, but a cloned phone. Tempted to act a bit confused, select #1 and give them the Dover PD's physical address. Sure the next questions will be to confirm my credit card and social security and birth date, for security purposes only you understand. The longer you keep them on the phone, the fewer calls they can make and the less suckers they will catch. As a senior, it takes me forever to remember all those numbers.
- JeanNot only did we get a call from this number tonight trying to deliver the Life Alert System, we also found out a $9,000 credit card charge to a medical supply company had been fraudulently made on our card last night. I would recommend you check with your cc company to be sure a charge hasn't been made against your card.
- Billie replies to willowThe medic alert for seniors scammers have nothing to do with the legitimate company, and they use all spoofed (false) numbers--nothing to do with Dover either.
- TMNo one answered when I picked up.
Stayed on the line for several seconds then they hung up.
2nd call today.- Caller: 603-285-9163
- FredSThey called my cell phone to say someone in my family ordered Life Allert and they were calling to schedule delivery. Nobody ordered it. Total scam!

- Carol| 1 replyI have gotten two calls from the Dover number. First one, I dd not answer, was waiting for a message. Second one came in last NIGHT at 9:00 p.m. Thinking it might be a friend who lives in Dover, I answered and I think it was a recording. When I asked who recommended they call me, they kept talking. He was saying something like "you or someone who lives there has recently fallen".... that's when I suspected this was just another stupid call. I hung up and will continue to hang up if they call again.
