I received this call on my cell, which is a number I only give out to people I trust.  So, any unknown caller is pretty much guaranteed to be a scam at worst, or a telemarketer at best.  Another site says this number is from Fidelity Investments.  Even if it is legit, I don't approve of getting cold calls, and ESPECIALLY on my cell, which I consider a very private number.  I block this number, and will not accept anything from Fidelity investments as punishment for using my number without my permission.  I don't pay for my phones to give any company free advertising space.

Legitimate number. It is Fidelity and they do not cold-call. If you got a call you are probably linked to Fidelity in some way through work, retirement, or private. Broker's extension number does not show but this number does.

Legit. This is Fidelity workforce retirement services. 401k. I left where I was working and they called because I have a open account with them for my 401K.

This is a legitimate number from Fidelity investments.  If they're calling from this number, it's because you have (or at least "had") an existing banking/investment relationship with them.

They call you and try to manage your retirement, it will cost you 2% of your total worth. I think it is a rip off like a scammer!

I received a legitimate call from Fidelity. I left a company and heard from them regarding my 401k.

Left a voicemail.  In deed it is Fidelity.  Calling to want to discuss my options under my 401k plan.

Have had several calls from this number but not any messages. I do not have any dealings with Fidelity. I'm not sure if it's truly Fidelity, how or why they have my and why they don't leave a message. Maybe the Fidelity # is being spoofed.

Did you wind up leaving the old 401k alone or did you roll it over?

Most likely some sort of scam.   If you call that number , the robo-greeter  ID themselves as "Fidelity workforce retirement services".   Then they ask for some sort of account number and if you don't have that they ask for your SS number.  Absolutely do NOT give them any information. If they call you and also be sure to block this number.

They are labeling themselves on their cold calls as "Fidelity Investments".

There are extensive shill remarks mentioned on the various anti-scamming sites relative to this number.  Most saying how "legitimate" this number is.

Don't be fooled; it is most likely a fishing scam of some sort!

Thirteen entries on this thread and I count six as shill posts.  A 46% shill  rate is pretty good evidence is a scam.  Other anti-scamming sites show shill barrages as well.  All claiming how "legitimate" this number is.

Now, just watch.  After I post this entry at least three posts will immediately come up and tell us how "legit" the number is.

This is definately a legit caller from Fidelity Retirement 401K/retirement folks. Often, Fidelity administers pension plans (like HP's) and this could be why it can be confusing when and if they call. In my case, I was glad I endured the whole security questions.
