Very upsetting recorded phone call. Told me there was a complaint made to Revenue Canada, and that I was going to be audited. That I had to call them right away before I was taken to court. Then I realized, I do not have taxes owing, and if it was something serious I would be contacted by mail first. I am also concerned about my gmail account. I actually can't remember if I closed the account, but don't think I did. When they made changes to Hotmail and wanted to combine my accounts, I didn't do it. I actually forgot about the account, until a couple days ago when I found an email written from that account in my junk mail, along with several other junk emails, and there was another one today. I have tried to get back into the account to change the pass word, but no luck. If anyone has an ideas what I should do I would really appreciate it. Or do they assign the account to someone else if it goes dormant?

i saw this on my local news it is a scam revenue canada would send you a letter the lady on the news said they will ask for your sin number which they should already have and then they say you owe xxx # of dollars and you must pay or they will send police out to arrest you just dont listen or talk because it is scam if you call back recording says revenue canada   they are  very smart ...... At least that is what city TV news said  check out video on citynews.com just type in cra scam...

 I just got another call, am going to look into blocking the number.

The wife was all upset as she received a call asking her to call back as they were going to take us to court for some debt
 Fortunately I hesitated to call - looked the number up on the internet You would think the OPP OR THE RCMP COULD
easily catch these scammers!!!!

I received a call from this number. The incomplete message was automated.  All I heard was the phone number repeated twice.  I am glad I found your site.  Now I will not pick up if the call is repeated. Lulu is right about Revenue Canada not working this way.  An agent will call you personally and you may receive a letter.

Got an automated computer generated Voice Mail twice telling me that there was a federal action against me and that I needed to call 613.366.3851 before I was arrested. This number could not be reached by pressing "1" after calling *69 to see what the calling number was (verified 613.366.3851). Called the number and it was busy then requested Bell auto callback but it was an "unavailable" service for this number which leads me to believe that this number is spoofed. Called back and a weak male voice answered "Go Ahead". That's it. I then said "I am calling out of curiosity to find out what kind of scam you are running". The voice responded "f**k you". I then said (assuming his system captured my incoming call display) "Don't ever call this number again". That is it so far. Definitely a scam.

Had the same experience as the others here but I called them back. Nasty scammer told me I had to pay $2,248 immediately by wire transfer or the RCMP would come to my door.  The interesting thing I noted was that I called from a blocked number at work and the person who answered never asked my name...yet addressed me as 'Mr. Robert'.  Looking at the names of those leaving comment we all seem to be Bobs or Roberts.  Total scam of course but I wish the authorities could catch these guys or at least stop them.  Shut the number down for God's sake!

If it is someone calling from CRA Tax Crimes Investigation unit (no such thing) with an Indo/Pakistani accent is Fraud.  100 Percent Fraud.  Do not fall for this.  Revenue Canada never phones.  They only use the mail.  And when did anyone ever pay Revenue Canada by Western Union, Green Dot cards or any other scam card?

Just got a call from this number (613-366-3851) leaving a voice automated message that was cut off at beginning but ended with a prompt to call the number before the case goes to court or I get arrested.
