Voice mail Hoax. Purporting to being the CRA and very threatening. Was not at all fooled, but could be scary to someone vulnerable.

Tried calling them back early in the morning just to see who would answer - some guy answered telling me to call back in 30 minutes.  When I asked what company I was calling he hung up on me.  Stay away!!!

Called back and was told it was the CRA and that they have a warrant out for me. Called the guy out on the scam and the guy threatened me, saying he would be commanding a local police officer to visit my home. No idea how they even got my information.

They are not reachable.... I tried several times to call back... Just to threaten the "guy" myself... no service

Real process servers do not warn you that they are coming.

I don't appreciate being scammed!

My very trusting mother-in-law got a call from this number and was repeatedly threatened that she was going to be arrested. She has gotten scam calls before but they always upset her.

Just received my second call from this number. Not at all convincing when the voice is automated! But seriously, how can we get them to stop?

I let my answering machine take this threatening message, it really makes me angry. How do we stop these guys, can the police do anything???

It's unlikely law enforcement can do anything except alert the public.  Invest in a call blocker and do not pick up on numbers you do not recognize.  Callers are located in India and Pakistan.  They spoof local numbers.

Yes, you should.  If only to alert police so they can alert the public as to this scam.  CRS/IRS scam has been hitting North America for some time.  Comes out of the Indian sub-continent.  Invest in a call blocker and do NOT pick up on calls you do not recognize. Never return these kinds of calls.  No legitimate tax agency in North American will cold call you and start demanding money and threatening you.  If this happens you KNOW it's a scam.

This is one of the worst telephone things I've experienced.  Had two calls from this #, one clearly a recording two days ago, and then a person yesterday.  Both times they got my machine.   I wonder what happens if they get you directly?  Anyway, I called the CRA just now to find out if there was a problem on my file (there wasn't) but they told me that the CRA home page has a big exclamation mark witha spot to report fraudulent phone calls, so I suggest you ALL go there and report it.  I would think they'll at least hamper them by blocking off that phone # for starters, and perhaps they'll actually resolve it.
