Got an automated msg from this number claiming to be RCA agent Eric Foster in a very heavy accented voice. The msg said a serious lawsuit had been filed against me (did not once actually address me by name) and that unless I contact them I would face serious consequences including having my Social Insurance Number (I swear he said fake searched.)  Got the call twice in one morning.

I had the same as Jonathan, had about 8 (!) calls from him in the space of one day. Obviously pre-recorded message from "Officer Eric Foster" (with a thick East-Indian accent) claiming to be with Revenue Canada. The message said a serious lawsuit had been filed against me (again, was not named) and that unless I contact him and only him I would face serious consequences including having my Social Insurance Number something-or-other. Out of curiosity I called, largely to mess with him. I told him I had just spoken to CRA who knew nothing of what he was referring to which seemed to agitate him. He said CRA would be in touch and then hung up when I asked for a file or reference number. Called him back several times to return the favor and he's now screening me. At least once when I called back he gave a different name and claimed Eric Foster was his associate (same voice though)and then put me on hold/disconnected when I started asking questions.

Had a call this morning from this number - as others have noted, thick east indian accent, CRA scam, hung up on the message.

Got the same call and message as everyone else. I know this is a scam to collect information for identity theft.

Have got the same call a couple of times.  Have also some from supposedly the RCMP regarding the same subject.  Sure it was the same person in all cases.  The RCMP one said his name was Jason Clark and now this one is Eric Foster.  Give me a break.  What do you think the chances are of 2 heavily accented people having English names like that.

Call from 613-704-1361 Eric Foster claming to be revenue Canada.Also same 613  some guy Martin same BS.Can you tell me how these pieces of garbage can keep doing this.Give me a location and I will deal with them myself.

They hit us in the US too.  I'd like to order an air-strike against their call centers .   In any event they area located in India and Pakistan and as such outside the reach of anyone's law.

Same as everyone else.  This just happened to me.  It sounds scary and real, but i had my reservations still.  The message said that he was Officer Eric Foster from Canada Revenue Agency and that "there is a previous lawsuit filed against you.  The issue at hand is very time sensitive.  The very second you receive this message, i need you to return this call at 613-704-1361.  If i don't receive your call, you will have to face hard and unwanted legal consequences including your social insurance number will be under state investigation and will be red flagged forever."  He never addressed with anyone's name.  Just "you".  If this was real, wouldn't CRA send a letter?  I sure wouldn't give out my SIN number if he asked for it!!

Says there is a serious law suit filed against my name (doesn't say who).  Says a hard and legal case against my Social Insurance Number under the state and it has been red flagged.  Eric Forester from Canada Revenue Agency.  Talks with East Indian accent.  It came in at 7:44 AM

got a call at 9:30 am  this guy said all of the same stuff in the comments above. I told him where to go and what to do!!!!!

My elderly mom got the exact same phone call early this morning and it really rattled her... Officer Eric Foster. Canada Revenue Agency. Serious lawsuit. Must call back immediately or face serious "state consequences" involving Social Insurance number. Clearly not who he said he was because he never referred to her by name, nor did he give a case number. And since when do Canadians live in "states"? I told my mom to go back to bed...

Yes ,me too . I got the same message ,at 1:05 today August 18 ,2015 yes , he said he call from revenue canada agency ( thick East Indian accent) ,he said hard & legal case against my social insurance number , he told me need to call him back at613-704-1472 if not I will got social red flagged.

Got a recorded message from Eric Foster 4times since yesterday  , exactly the same message !!!i
Although he never addressed with anyone's  name , I was so terrified!
I called my husband and said  ignore it , that might be Scam
If it was for real, wouldn't CRA send a letter?

i got this call twice now and knew it was a scam when he said my social insurance number would be under "state" investigation.  We don't have states!

Received a recorded message at 1015am stating his name was Officer Eric Foster from Canada Revenue and that I (he did not state my name) that there was a lawsuit against my name and that there would be serious consequences if I did not return his call immediatiately and that my SIN number would be red flagged forever.  The number he left to call back on was 613-704-1472 the number that showed up in my call display was 416-651-9090.  Can anyone give me any information or someone legit to contact at Canada Revenue.

God the same message yesterday and he said I needed a lawyer immediately there was a court case against.
