This number was on my call display every day but I missed most of the calls. Then I answered it this morning and he asked for my late father who has been dead for 10 years. When I said he didn't live here anymore he said they were a federal officer and if I was lying I'd be in big trouble. I said if he was with the federal government that he'd know the person he was looking for was dead then I asked him to tell me exactly what organization he was with and what his name was and he refused so I hung up. No return calls yet.

I got the same call today. Tried saying they were from the CRA and I owed all this money for making fraudulent claims on my income tax. When I said that I used an accountant and that they could send me info by mail they hung up. They called again an hour and a half later with a recording saying the same thing. Very annoying!!

i got a call from the same number insisting i owe $3500 from revenue canada. he demanded that i pay right away or else I'll get arrested.

You would think that they would realize that people are smart enough to know that if we owe the CRA money that we would be notified by mail. Also the CRA has this scam posted on their website.

i got a similar call from an automated caller yesterday and twice today. Apparently the Canada revenue agency is filing a lawsuit against me. I was to call Eric at the same number or my SIN number would be red flagged and a "very serious lawsuit" would be filed against me.

My daughter answered the phone today from this number as well, and the fellow asked for me (mother) by name and my daughter told him I was not available, he then began to pressure to find out where I was. He indicated his name was Eric from Ottawa, and proceeded to tell my daughter that I was supposed to be meeting him at his house tomorrow. When my daughter didn't believe what he was telling her she asked for a phone number that I could call him back at.  He of course hung up.  She immediately *69 the number and it was 1-613-704-1472.  She of course called me and told me what happened.  So I called the number and got through and the fellow answered Revenue Canada Agency, so I say...Oh...weird I didn't expect this to be RCA - he says...well why the f@ck would you call here then if you don't believe it??  I responded with words that I shouldn't repeat in a public setting - and of course he hung up immediately.

A message was left saying there is a very serious law suit against YOU.  Never did he identify who it was he was trying to reach.  He left this number to call back immediately!! 613-704-1472.  He said his name was Officer Eric Foster from CRA.

Here is the message that was left on my answering machine on Friday, August 20th, 2015.

"So it is from your debt, there is a serious law suit filed against your name.
The issue at hand is very time sensitive.  The very second you receive this message; I need you to return the call as soon as possible on my department number which is 613-704-1472. I repeat it 613-704-1472.
If I don’t receive your call you will have to face hard and unwanted legal consequences including your Social Insurance Number will be under investigation and will be red flagged forever.
To avoid all legal consequences, call me as soon as possible.  Again this message is for you and this is Officer Eric Foster from Canada Revenue Agency.
Good bye and have a blessed day."

I got the same exact call from Officer Eric Foster. And was exactly like "WPG MG".
My first thought was panic and then I realized CRA would send documentation before receiving a call like that.
I tried calling the number back after blocking my number put it just clicks off.

Is there somewhere we report this?

Same call received from 613-704-1472 .  Claiming to be officer Eric Foster from Revenue Canada and threatening if call not returned serious action will be taken.  Caught me off guard initially until I realized Revenue Canada is not a Mickey Mouse that would do business in this fashion.  Report this call to the local police so they are aware and can warn others that this is a scam......

I repeat it 613-704-1472." So, I automatically looked up the number as I know this was not a valid situation. Albeit annoying, I'm happy to find out I'm not the only one! Whatever happened to the "Do not call" list anymore?

Claiming to be Eric Foster from CRA, something about a lawsuit against my name. Did not pick up but have called twice leaving the exacts are message. Similar to others' experiences.

Got the call and it hit my VM. It's a scam artist pretending to be the CRA.
I called him back with my CID blocked and laughed.

I got a phone call today from this number, and in a panic I called them back without checking.
An officer by the name of Eric Foster (with some sort of east indian accent) called saying I'm performing tax fraud. I almost fell for it, but there was a bunch of discrepancies that made me laugh during the call.

He was making stuff up out of the air about the RCMP coming after me, and how people have tried delivering documents instead of mailing. He didn't even say my name right at one point, though he did have my mailing address correct, and that worries me.

He kept trying to pressure me into heading to the bank and withdrawing cash while he stay on the phone. Which was getting more suspicious. When he kept threatening me with legal action if I didn't hurry up, I said I'll take the lawsuit and he lost his composure, swearing and all. I laughed at him and hung up. Whew!

Here is the message that was left on my answering machine twice on Friday, August 28th, 2015. They called at 11:00am and they called again at 1:00pm.

"This call is from the Canada Revenue Agency. The reason for this call is to inform you that there is a serious lawsuit filed against your name. The issue at hand is very time sensitive. The very second you receive this message; I need you to return this call as soon as possible on my department number which is 613-704-1472. I repeat it's 613-704-1472.

This is obviously a scam because the CRA always notifies you by mail of any situations with your account.

These phone calls from 613-704-1472 started coming this morning around 733 phone calls every time my husband answered they hung up but when I answered he actually asked me my name he knew my name and my address   And yes it was a very thick East Indian or person of Pakistani Islamic background and he proceeded to say that he was an officer of the CRA  and that he wanted me to get a paper and pen to write down my reference number regarding my 2009 to 2014 income taxes I told him I did not have a paper at that point because I was in the bathroom  he told me to shut my """""" mouth when an officer is addressing them  mouth when an officer is addressing them and this is where  it became very vulgar he told me to wipe my """"""  stick my fingers up my """""""""  and to lick it  I hung up quickly phone the RCMP   They had a long conversation with me and took the information down for people in Manitoba we could not call Ottawa today as they are updating their computers so I called the Oakbank  detachment in the officer there was very reassuring and excellent  and reassured us that they are working on this in the most expedient manner just be where people out there just in case your children answer the phone or if you wear glasses you don't have your glasses on unless you can see the number don't answer and please all seniors be very careful he is slick and sick

At this point I hung up.  Please help...how do we get rid of these callers?

"Officer Eric" from CRA called me to let me know that I was facing a "serious lawsuit" because I committed tax fraud.
But if I paid my $3600 payment right away via Credit Card I would avoid being arrested.
I calmly informed him that I work for CRA and that I know 100% that I do not owe that money, and even if I did, there was no way in hell I would be paying off over the phone via my credit card.
He proceeded to tell me I was lying and that the RCMP would be dispatched right away to arrest me. I told him I was reporting his number to the Anti-Fraud agency and if he called me again I would do anything within my power to see him arrested. He proceeded to call me some very inappropriate names and then hung up. I don't think I will hear from him again.
PLEASE REMEMBER CRA WILL NOT CALL YOU AND ASK FOR PAYMENT OVER THE PHONE. Always ask to be sent the legal papers that indicate required payment.
