It appears +614-100-0000 is being use to attempt Pay Pal scams involving vehicles advertised online

i got a msg to buy my car

i got a txt from them said to send email to angelaglower@yahoo.com

I got a similar text this morning to buy my motorbike, asked to send email only to angelaglower@yahoo.com and I live in Australia.  must definitely be a paypal scam as that is how I paid for my online bike ad.

Got sms regarding my scooter for sale. Asked to answer via email to tracy.glower@gmail.com. Offered money via EFT or paypal.

have just received a sms asking if my bike is still for sale. tracy.glower@gmail.com
has advised will pay immediately

this is the second one in two days i have also had another one from Peter Taylor ( peter.taylor@gmail.com) Also mentions offshore, mentions Malaysia. was happy to pay whatever i wanted until i refused to pay his shipping agent with money sent to me. then i have heard nothing.

can someone advise what their angle is, how can they scam paypal. is it transferring the shipping agent money to a western union account, i think that is the scam

Andrew, received another scam sms from Amy.killer1 which was shown as phone number, asked again to reply to garyadele101231@gmail.com, asking for the price
this time I did not respond as I knew it's a scam

First time I was aksed to send my account details so they can transfer the money to my account (yeah, sure!) I replied that will accept cash only, he came back with giving pay pal account details and the name...I responded that will not do the online transaction...have not heard from them since...

Not sure what their angle is, but believe that with youir account details and then name, they can somehow hack into the system or steal identity

Got similar regarding sale of sailing boat.   Asked to e-mail taypeter01@gmail.com immediately if still for sale.   E-mail asked to supply paypal e-mail details and thay would ship to Malaysia for his father.
Did not give out any info but did get other emails with number to ring +60173291697.  Search revealed this a American Landline, but they claim it to be Malasian.

When I started asking questions - e-mails stopped.

Just got a message from this number after advertising my bike for sale on bikesales.com.au.
The message said they wanted to buy my bike right away & only to e-mail: rubyglower@gmail.com.
Once I saw the number I thought straight away that it was a scam, but thenn googles the no & came across this page on the net.

I have a car on gumtree and car sales. yesterday was a text from a peter tayolor (using a different number). I stupidly emailed and got a blurb about father in malaysia , will pay more for car etc etc etc.. and wanting pay pal details.. sounded a bit fishy to me so I started surfing and found this.

Today I have text from the number you guys listed but is saying its a Jodie Andrews... same deal as everyone else.

Spoke to a friend as I dont paypal stuff very ofter and thought it was really safe and I couldnt work out the angle.

Apparently what has been happening is that when you do give paypal details.. you then receive a false paypal email to say money has been transferred and then they request you pay to western union the shipping fee.  Or some just straight out further into the emails ask you to transfer the extra money paid to western union for shipping fee.

Just a new twist on an old scam, however I feel much better knowing that paypal is safe... and of course the answer is to make sure money is in your bank account and not paypal first. However I do wonder how many people they do get. They must be sucking people in for alll the texts they send out or it wouldnt be worth it.

PS they are so frustrating. I did reply to yesterdays email.. telling them they are a bunch of leech sucking [***].... I know shouldnt do it.  but crap like this makes me so angry

Got a Text from this number then an email asking for email only.

Wanting to buy my bike!! Jokes on them, Im closing the account once the money arrives and before arrangements are made to collect.... Then they can either pickup the bikes as per the purchase or leave without their money!!!

My partner and I are trying to sell his motorbike and we got a text message from this number saying email ruby.glower@gmail.com email only and they would buy our bike straight away.
