- Mama replies to BigA| 1 replyThere is open enrollment for Medicaid recipients. Any insurance company, even Medicaid , has an open enrollment period to not make changes to your policy when there is not a change of life status. Open enrollment does not mean electing or denying insurance coverage, it used to make changes. So I'm not sure what searches you are doing but the are incorrect...and fyi, I work for insurance companies so I know what I'm talking about as I have to deal with Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance companies all the time.
- BigA replies to MamaSo you did not receive a call from this number but stopped by to "correct" me? Ok, I know that it is illegal to cold call to sell Medicare Supplement Insurance per Medicare regulations. CMS oversees both Medicare and Medicaid. So, since you
then it should only take you 1/2 second to supply me with the information to back your claim up where it is legal to cold call Medicaid recipients to sell them insurance. Can you do that? If not then I will have to take your whole post as a lie and will then take the position that you simply looked my screen name up to try to discredit me. If the latter then you have failed miserably.Quote:I work for insurance companies so I know what I'm talking about - MikeHuntleton| 2 repliesNo need to feed when this should be much easier for everyone.

https://www.healthcare.gov/quick-guide/dates-and-deadlines/ - BigA replies to MikeHuntleton| 1 replyThey are talking about Medicaid not Medicare Supplement Insurance. Medicaid does have independent companies but there would be different rules and regulations since that is basically issued by Welfare and not the SSA.
- MikeHuntleton replies to BigAI thought it was about open enrollment and I think this might be better than debating it here, don't you? Healthcare is very confusing and pointing people to info is much better than confusing them.
Source: https://www.cms.gov/newsroom/fact-sheets/mark ... ment-fact-sheetQuote:The Marketplace Open Enrollment Period on HealthCare.gov runs from November 1, 2021 to January 15, 2022. Consumers who enroll by midnight December 15 can get full year coverage that starts January 1.
This year, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is focusing on increasing access to assistance for Marketplace consumers, ensuring robust outreach and education efforts to reach consumers about the opportunity to enroll or re-enroll in Marketplace coverage. - Not DumbFrom my experience. This is a SPAM calling because I do have ohio medical cards for my kids and they have never called my number. And they won't. They send letters to your address. Also ones that think it might actually be them for recertify, its not because they send you letter in sep and oct. Saying" if you already have medical insurance and you dont want to change anything then NO ACTION is required from me. I have changed providers (changes), and I had to go through my local JFS

- Dan A replies to BigAThere actually is open enrollment for Medicaid in Ohio. However they send a letter asking if you’d like to change provider’s. If you’re happy with who you have then do nothing. I got a call with no message. No idea if it’s actually them. If you need to re certify they will send a notice in the mail. So I’ll ignore the call.
- Me replies to MiaYes! I got info in the mail. You do not have to be on welfare. I’m not! Just a single parent who’s income isn’t $20 an hour!
- Rosen| 1 replyI was called by 614-456-0079. The lady straight up asked me for my social security number or case number, since I had applied to medicaid. I told her I was confused at what she meant-- I am currently waiting on my card in the mail. She said something about offering a choice counselor, and if I wanted to switch plans. I told her that I had been receiving spam calls from a company at Healthcare.COM--and refused to offer my SSN.
She gave me a call back number of 1-800-642-4168
After the phone call, I contacted ~actual~ Molina at (866) 427-7501 and asked if any of their representatives ask for SSN over the phone. The lady -emphatically- said no, they do not.- Caller: Molina

- RReceived call from this number and was asked to verify social security number or Medicaid number. Woman said her name was Kelly. I called the number back the next day and it was a recording in a foreign language. Today it’s in English. I’m concerned I gave too much information so I put a fraud alert on my credit file.

- Big AlSpoofed spammer. Doesn't leave message yet identifies itself as "automated."
- Caller: Automated Health!
- SCalled once, no message. I have been on the Medicaid website for a review of my contact information so, it's either bs spoof (because they've been dealing with fraud and phishing) or genuine Medicaid. Hell if I know.
- Caller: Medicaid?
- Call type: Valid
- S replies to RosenSounds like a scam to me, thanks for sharing.
- Shay replies to BigA| 1 replyYou do NOT have to be on Welfare to have Medicaid. That is for the lower income people and also disabled ppl. Sheesh.
- BigA replies to ShayYou would need to be below a certain income level which would qualify you for Welfare and other benefits. I'm surprised that you didn't know that. I'm also amazed at the number of posts in this thread today, one after the other almost. Sheesh.
- D.H replies to BigA| 2 repliesI find this incorrect information because every November (I am on Medicaid) Nov. Is the month u can change say from caresource to Melina (I've done it... But once make that change... That's your insurance for the next year til next November when they ask if want to use a different type of Medicaid... After dealing with Melina... I just stick to caresource
- BigA replies to D.H| 1 replyYou stopped by here on a whim in order to criticize a post that I made 2 years ago? That is the only reason that I can see for you to be here since you didn't get a phone call from this number. I know that because you would have posted about it if you had gotten a phone call.
- AneIt's a scam. If you call back it automated, no matter what option you choose it just hangs up. If you call back you're blocked. do NOT provide any information like ssn over the phone. Call the company or agency directly and see if information is needed.

- MeWe got a call from this number but i suspect it could be a scam, the message says consumer hotline but not say for medicaid or any other odjfs department AND it called at just before 9pm when all those departments are closed. Dont give them any information, call a direct number and speak with someone this number is automated and is calling at a late time. I dont trust it.
