Have received 8 calls from this number. When I answer it hangs up.  When I call back I am just left on hold indefinitely.

Claimed to be a collection agency for a hospital bill. Had my name, place and date of service correct but I had already paid it off and had received no written notice of collections.

Most debt collectors, if not all of them, never send the letter out until after they have harassed you on the phone, trying to get you to pay without costing them the 47 cents to mail it.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid. 

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Someone named Chris I Believe called and said I had a balance on a bill that went into collection. I paid the bill last month and I told him I would look at my records and call him back. I called back a Destiny answered. I started teilling her what went on she hung up. I called back again a woman answered but would not say her name. I asked for it and she replied PCB AND ROSS. I asked for her name specially she hung up. I tried several more times and was met with answer no words hang up. Then the last time it went to an answering to which I left a message. Very similar to this text. With the added statement. If you are truly trying to settle a debt get it together cause your customer service is horrible. Get it right or do not call my phone number again

Same here. When I called the missed number she answered saying Destiny. When I asked who she was with, she hung up.

this number calls me every day--I finally called back and it had hold music for over 5 mins
I hung up--then i finally answered the next time they called and was immediately placed on hold again

if they are trying to collect a debt, they arent doing a very good job

As far as I'm concerned until they can mail me proof of the debt they can keep on calling.

not an important number!!! Calls from this number multiple times, everyday. When I do answer there is no one there.

Have received 1--2 calls daily for over a week from this # . I have yet to answer & don't plan to! They're calling my landline, on which I intentionally leave the voicemail full so they & others/telemarketers can't harass me w/their messages.

Called & left no message. Possibly a collection agency for a medical invoice that has been paid.

Called, I answered and it said that all of their representatives where busy to please hold for the next available. I hung up and they called right back but didn't say anything.

This number has called me multiple times over the past 2 weeks and most days around 8pm. They NEVER leave a voicemail. I don't answer unknown numbers unless they leave a voicemail.....too many scams/telemarketers calls to answer every unknown number

Once they get to the point where they can leave a voicemail you won't be able to answer the phone.
