- LynnWhen I returned a call from this number the first thing he asked me was my account number, or if I didn't have it then my name. But then he said nothing under that name, and asked me my social security number. He also asked for my husbands name and social security number. He spoke very little Emglish, and said he worked for Ford Credit.
- PissedOffMom| 1 replyThis number has contacted my daughter numerous times a day while she is trying to focus on college finals. She has spoken to the representative and their manager to tell them that the Mr. Miller they are looking for is not at this number. They continue to call her. I personally called the Ford Credit National Customer Service office and was told they could not do anything about it. They even suggested that she may have cosigned on a loan...what a crock of [***].

- Steve replies to PissedOffMomI was a manager for a high voloume call center and you might have to consider an issue involving identity theft. All the collections agent knows is the information on the screen: Name, adress, contact info, amount owed, and a place to make notes. Since a high percentage of people make statements of avoidance, they aren't at home, wrong person, person died, etc., a collection's department will continue to call until they get a payment arrangement. The computer dials and the rep does not know one call from the next. Calls are made over and over, all the calls remain in queue knowing that only a percentage of the numbers will be resolved. The system and call center software is designed to get the higest response rate but employees are just following directions. Collections employees dont have the authoirty, or even ability, to delete a call in queue. If you want calls to stop, you have to tell the company in notarized writing that the person they are trying to contact does not live there, include the telephone number, and demand a stop to the calls. However, if someone stole a car from a dealer using a faux borrower/cosigner, there could be an issue with credit that must be addressed. When a car is sold, it is the responsibility of the dealer to verify identity, credit and contact information. There are scenarios where the sales rep. wants the sale, thinks he has all the contact information from the borrower, and does not verify identity of the person sitting right in front of him. At the time of purchase, the borrower looks good, comes clean-cut, comes with a cosigner looking the same way. They have all the numbers and info and the dealer accepts the explanation that they just lost their wallet or some other minor problem. They might even have credit cards in the victim's name and this becomes "good" proof of identity. If a faux cosigner is there, its easy for the salesman to deny the possibility of identity theft. The second faux cosigner brings validation. The motivated dealer percieves that this won't be an issue with 2 signers; especially when the loan goes through. There is no credit history to talk about so its harder to verify identity during the application. College students are groups that will get immediate approval. As a result, they are also the greatest target for identity theft. Theft can occur over the phone too. College students are called on campus and hear something like, "We're with your credit card company and ummm, we need to verify information so you can get started." After 40 or 50 calls made by someone seeking information, a percentage of the students will disclose enough information to start a loan. New student directories also give opportunities every year for such research. On campus application is another sitaution. The more motivated thieves grab a stack of printed credit applications that often sit outside of job fairs or alone on a college campus. They then sit at a table and advise they are a rep from that company. Staff is not on campus with limited security in the evening and its easy to set up a table without notice. All they need are a few applications and a banner. They collect a completed application, ask a few more questions, and then they change the address and get the credit card mailed to them. Some theives just set up a box, put some applications out and collect the box a little later in the day. With just a few more questions made on the telephone, they have the info for a more complex loan. By the time the person is screwed, the person experiencing the theft has no idea who took the info. The Mr. Miller they are looking for might be another college student who disclosed too much information as well. If they said she cosigned the loan and she is in the cue for a collections agent, have your daughter check her credit and consider getting assistance for identity theft. I would get a credit report and make sure, dont let it stand idle.

- KellReceived several calls from caller ID 615-315-2666 recording stating I needed to call Ford Credit and leaving me 877-873-0085 for return call number. Return call number generated a fax signal so I blocked my phone number and called them at the number that showed up on caller ID. The man who answered the phone had a very thick spanish accent & was difficult to understand. I don't have an open credit account with Ford, so didn't have an account number & wasn't about to give the guy my name. He asked for my number & I gave the cell number that's been getting the calls, he said that the number wasn't in his records. Seemed really fishy if you ask me. I'm pulling a credit report just to be sure since I also receive the recorded calls from the credit card service department telling me that I only have a limited number of days to get a lowered interest rate & I don't have any credit cards... go figure huh?

- nobody specialJust some info for all of you out there, you need to check with YOUR state laws about what collection agencies are allowed to do, ie, in my state, they have restricted hours that they are allowed to call you, yes this means in your time zone, not there's, also if they become threatening, ie, we are going to take your house, bank accounts, etc... they are not allowed to do this, in my state if I tell them NOT to call back again, they can be sued if they continue this, especially outside the allowable hours. The fact that you blocked the call and you receive the call from a different country call center doesn't excuse them either. So, my point is start putting pressure on this company, to know their facts before they start calling YOUR number, especially for those of you who don't have a credit line with Ford. Let them know that if they call again you will turn them into the Attorney General for your state,(easy to file a complaint with them usually)or the Better Business Bureau, Most companies, do not like their company's name turned into the BBB. Just a few suggestions, GOOD LUCK!!!! MY favorite is blow a whistle in their ear, they will stop!!!!

- irritated on mauiI am getting so irritated with these morons that keep calling and asking for some person that I have never heard of let alone know her. I ask them what number they are calling and he gives me my cell phone number and I told him that I have had this number for many years and no one by that name is here. Hell if I will ever give them my name, phone is listed under my husband, I have a Sprint/Nextel phone, wonder if these jerks hacked into the cellphones to get numbers and info.
- angelaThey keep calling all day long . They are asking for a person whose name I do not recognize I asked them to quit calling and they still continue to call they also asked me for my phone number.

Bud Says...
On Jan 13, 2004 Joan Myers (Tx State Bar#14761600) 59, of Bedford, TX received a one year fully-probated suspension effective March 1, 2004.
Attorney's Joan Myers and hubby James Porter (aka DUMB & DUMBER) have filed enough lawsuits to fill a courthouse. Unfortunately they apparently have had some problems doing it legally. She was suspended from practicing in federal bankruptcy court, he has trouble doing what she tells him. This super-slick duo should be viewed with extreme caution. They have a long record of contradictions and excuses that give bad lawyers a good name. They sometimes have a problem with the truth. NOTHING that they say should be taken as valid, contact me if you are unfortunate enough to have dealings with them.
Their latest list of organizations that hire them to collection work is Ford Motor Credit Company. FMCC must NOT be aware of how many organizations have DUMPED Myers & Porter because of their incompetence. It won't be long until Ford Credit is yet another name on the long list of Myers & Porters FORMER clients.

Massive Identity Fraud Alleged Bloomberg News
September 18 2004
A former employee of a company that helps banks and other businesses access consumer credit data stole credit histories of thousands of people in what may be the largest identity fraud ever, prosecutors said.
More than 30,000 people in the United States with credit data on file at Experian Corp., Equifax Inc. and TransUnion were victims of a three-year scheme by Philip Cummings, who worked on the help desk at Telecommunications Data Inc. and had access to client passwords, authorities said. The company can download consumer credit histories, prosecutors said.
Using access codes belonging to Ford Motor Co.'s credit arm, Cummings downloaded 15,000 credit reports, prosecutors said. Criminals who obtained the stolen credit reports used them to take out loans in the names of the victims, buy merchandise, deplete bank accounts and order credit cards, authorities said.

Times are tough for all families and individuals. FMC has a business to run & they cannot be concerned with the human factor. The human factor is still there.- Caller: Ford Motor Credit
