You can save yourself the trouble of a call to the Social Security Administration; this is a scam that has been running for several months.
The SSA does not "suspend" Social Security Numbers, and if there is a problem they will first contact you by letter through the USPS.
The call is intended to create fear and doubt in the person receiving it.  I would think that it is mainly aimed at senior citizens who would fear that those benefits would stop if they do not call back.

Ignore the call, and any others like it that you might receive.

The first thing you hear if you call the SSA is that this is a scam.  They have it up before you get any other information.

I received an email noting this number to call if I wanted to change or drop my supposed auto renewal of an online PC help service I supposedly subscribed to for $399 per year.
