If you get a call from this telemarketer, please file a complaint with the FCC and FTC: http://www.fcc.gov/complaints and https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx. If they receive enough complaints, they'll investigate. In addition, they send information on how to file a lawsuit. If enough of us file and win, that should have an impact. What a great revenge, earning money FROM them! Information on their website says the FCC have shut down several of these scams.

They rang.  I blocked 'em.  They can call no more.  Seriously folks, why don't you get one o these things?  It will block up to 270 numbers or you can set to block everyone except those numbers you specifically enter.  You can see who calls even if they are blocked so that you can check out the number if you like.  A blocked number never rings through and can't even get your answering machine.  It was fantastic during the elections when about 15 robo calls with political messages were attempting to call in a day.  You can block entire area codes if you like such as 213 (Washington D.C.)!  You can even set it to ring once if you want to check out the call yourself.  Several places offer them.  I got mine on Amazon.  My neighbor just bought one that blocks 1200 numbers!  Honestly folks, it's the best 50 bucks you'll ever spend.

The FTC will not take any action without a "significant" number of complaints. They will not say what makes a "significant" number of complaints. I suggest you do the following:

    (1) file a complaint at
                   https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2

    (2) email or snailmail your congress-persons (Representatives and Senators) about the FTC's failure to enforce the Do-Not-Call list. Mention Donald S. Clark, Secretary of the Commission. This is the guy whose name appears on correspondence claiming they don't have enough complaints. (If you have a Republican, forget this step, they are not interested in our problems or interested in accomplishing anything useful).

    (3) call the FTC, Donald S. Clark, Secretary of the Commission at 1-202-326-2514.

                   Complain!                   Complain!               Complain!

Social Security and Medicare do not "sell" your info...they give it away! If the USPS charged full fare to business junk mail, they would be well into the black just off the insurance companies wanting my Medicare business. Republicans support the "public" availability of your private information because they claim to believe in "open" government. Funny, they are the Party of Big Business and they believe businesses should be protected from public scrutiny. They are also the biggest users of PACS that hide their $$$ donors. Only your data is public...not anything having to do with their supporters.

Telemarketers are people who are too stupid to flip burgers or master the phrase "Welcome to K-mart". If you are too dumb to see through their scams, you're probably on their hiring list. Don't ever answer these calls. If they don't make their quotas, they will be terminated in favor of another new moron. It's time to cull the idiots.

I answered this call and the automated message started in with "If you're a senior and you fall you may not be able to get up. Protect yourself...".  I stayed on the line in case there was a "press 3 to be removed" at the end of the message, but half way through the call dropped.

Your number wasn't sold by the FTC.  Everyone needs to understand that your number could be sold by any number of different sources including banks, credit card companies, etc that work it into their fine print when you say "Yep, I acknowledge I read your agreement".  Another point to be aware of: scam operators don't abide by 'the rules' of DNC any more than they are abiding by 'the rules' of reputable business practices.  They are robbing you (either for money, identification information, etc), so why would you think that the FTC could control them?  The spoof numbers or go get a new one in the case that theirs is shut down.

They called my cell phone but did not leave a message.  A similar website reported this number as a Robo call; Therefore, I created a new contact For this number And will set it to silent. I will add all Robo calls to this contact as well. Sorry for the strange capitalization.  That happens when I do voice to text, and I am feeling too lazy to go back and change them all lol

    Caller ID Zeeland, MI

This call is similar and nearly identical wording as other recent calls pushing emergency medical alert systems for seniors...even the Caller ID, Zeeland MI, is the same as other recent calls from similar numbers. The spammer obviously has a block of consecutive phone numbers, all in the (616) 613-222x range...

<me>"Hello?" <they> "Every year it is estimated that over 30% of the senior populationa accidentally falls. Many of these falls are serious and require medical attention. Now a new program designed to keep seniors safe and more protected is available for a short time. Don't become a helpless victim lying on the floor without options. You may qualify to receive a free medical emergency alert system. To find out if this program is available in your area press 1 now. Press 5 to be removed but to feel more protected 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, press 1 now."

These people call, talking about how often homes are broken into. I press the button on the phone that is supposed to remove our number from their list. So far it has not worked. Surely there must be something we can do....we put a man on the moon and returned him safely to earth with less technology than what is in your wrist watch!  I say Make a Stink, a Big Stink.
