617-384-5569

Repeated calls from this number, usually in the evening; nobody ever leaves a message; when I try to call back, no answer and no outgoing message.  It is *extremely* annoying.  I now think this is Harvard University calling for fundraising; they have a series of numbers in this range.

My Mother is being plagued the same way & she's 85 and cannot speak.  The numbers are 617 area code - 384-5559, 384-5569, 384-5527, 384-5521- 384-5564.  There are more, and it is Harvard fundraising.  How can I contact them & tell them to stop?

Caller ID showed this number: 617-384-5569.  I didn't answer and no message was left.  Since I am a Harvard alumnus the other posts saying it is Harvard fundraising seem correct.

Got a call from  x - 5564 and the voice asked for my wife. When I asked who it is, they hung up. This kid of annoying behavoir could make the spouse appear to be cheating. Very bad, very bad.

Yep, also a Harvard alum. It was a Sunday afternoon, and the caller hung up as soon as I answered.

It's Harvard alumni fundraising.  They use several numbers in the -55## series. When I see 617 on my cell phone I wait to see if they hang up when it starts to go over to voice mail. My daughter went to Duke and I do the same thing with 919 (Durham, NC) calls.

Also Harvard alum (recent grad), so that makes sense.  Thanks for shedding light

The culprit is the Harvard College Fund. Request the Alumni Records Office (aro@harvard.edu) to add your number to its DO NOT CALL list.

I have received calls from this number more than once a week with no message left. Surely Harvard should be able to think of a less offensive way to solicit contributions.

The funny thing is, my talking caller ID says "Harvard Universe"
