When I called back  I received a message THIS NUMBER IS NOT IN USE

Ironically, I was told this number shows on caller ID when I call. Spoke to my carrier Verizon and they said it's their routing number and my phone wasn't sent up correctly.

I got a call from this number at QUARTER OF MIDNIGHT ON A FRIDAY...TWICE....and they never spoke...thank GOD for the reject list

I called a 1-866 number for avast support sadly it was a gentlemans home begging to get the calls stopped. He told me the number that showed up on his caller id for me was unavailable 6176129825

Received a call from this number at 3:43 yesterday (Oct 1 2014).

Left no message and did not trigger voice mail.

The "name" said Unavailable.

Same Here a few minutes ago.. 10/4/2014

This number has been calling me repeatedly the past few days.  I haven't answered and they don't leave a message, but they call from early morning until late evening.

I paid for a subscription to Avast Premier and was charged after the free trial, but the subscription showed that my trial had ended and never changed. I called Avast (952-908-4089) and was given a number for Tech Support (866-951-7679). They complained that the signal was weak and wanted to call me back on the number I gave them in case I got disconnected. That was probably a mistake. They called me back and told me that they needed to connect to my machine. I told them I simply wanted a subscription ID or an Activation code, but they insisted that they needed to connect in order to help.

Once they connected, rather than looking at THEIR app, they looked at the Windows error log and other apps installed. They claimed that the other apps were the problem. Hmmm... Every other app works just fine EXCEPT Avast, and it's the other apps to blame? Then came the sell, "Sir, your computer is infected and we can fix it, but it will cost you $179." That is when I disconnected the Internet connection, uninstalled Avast and activated Windows Defender. I am not sure if they corrupted my machine or left malware installed, but this was a terrible experience. In fact, I don't know if the website I saw for Avast was really their site, their phone number or if the people that called me were with Avast. The emails I received were from Avast@DigitalRiver.com which is where I had originally downloaded the software from.

I have used Avast for years on other machines but will NEVER use them again. I found some other links online that said some Avast employees were busted for being involved in scams like this. It's the Internet so who knows what's true. But here's a big F.U. to the guy "Marvin" who connected to my machine and Avast in general for not policing your employees and partners better.

BTW - when I tried to call Marvin back, the recording said no such number exists.

I had the same exact experience today 9/9/2015, except I called a Zoho.com customer service number to set up an additional email account.  This has been a nightmare.  They insisted on getting onto my computer to set up the email and the above situation happened to me.  They post their number as a help desk phone number for different email and anti virus software providers, so it wasnt zohos fault or avast for that matter.  I called avast to get my computer scoured and and Comcast to get my IP address changed.  They also started speaking in Arabic or maybe some Eastern European language.  This is a fraud.  BEWARE!!!m i am reporting them to the Feds.  The name of their fake company is Arrow Systems Tech Services LLC and phony website is ArrowsystemsTech.com

Have been on and off the phone with Verizon for the past 3 hours concerning my internet. They tried to convince me to buy an added coverage for tech support, I told them no and hung up. Since then I have been receiving calls from this number. Will contact local police if they continue.

received call. claim that to be with HP Smart and wanted to update ACCT and tune up computer. actually left vm.

I was trying to set up an Allstate/Square Trade insurance plan for a new smart TV online.  I called customer service because they wanted to charge sales tax for a state that has no sales tax.  When I called, I got an Indian-accented guy.  He was not able to help me with the online purchase, but was happy to do it online.  This did not work for me as I didn't want to give him my credit card and wanted to do it online.  He kept pressuring me and I hung up.  A minute later the phone rings again and it is the Indian-accented guy.  The caller ID said he was calling from 617-612-9825
