These idiots are calling cellphones like they're free time. Why am I on the no-call list if it isn't enforced or respected?

At 4:47 pm CST called and left a message to call 888-438-3713 toll free to claim my free gift.  I did not call the number and I don't know what the "free" gift is....

I did not call the number back.  I am on the "DO NOT CALL LIST" - why? it's not being enforced - I'm getting calls daily on my cell and home phone.

Ive had this # calling me for quite some time now...it stopped for a few months and now its back...i dont care about the free prize i just wanna be left alone!

Stop calling me... it makes me call you back if i pick up and long distance charges you tard.

I've had calls from these guys (idiots) several time.  I'm on the "NO CALL LIST"-Why are these idiots calling me?

This clown keeps calling my telephone number and asking for people I do know.

A little bit about the "DO NOT CALL LIST".
The DO NOT CALL LIST does not function the way most people think.  They think that being on this "list" that telemarketers (or whatever else you would like to call them) will not be able to call you, however this is not the case nor how the system works.  Calls from ”legitimate registered” companies are the ones that the DO NOT CALL LIST applies to.  A legitimate registed company is simply a company that uses this service so calls are not made to those numbers.  When was the last time you got call from a legitamite company that told you to call "this 1-800 or 1-900 number" and temp you with a free gift?  Legitimate companies don't do that!  Unless you setup your phone to accept calls only from your phone book/contact list and not accept calls from unknown or witheld (blocked) numbers, something you may have to speak to your service provider to do, you will continue to receive these calls.  I plain english, THE DO NOT CALL LIST seemed like a good idea at the time, but it doesn't and never will work, if it did you would never receive a wrong number.  Sorry, but those are the facts.

Just got a call from this number. Didn't pick up. While not a perfect solution, this is what I do to try and not get stressed over the increasing number of telemarketing calls to my cel.
If I don't recognize a number, and especially if it's a toll free or area code I don't recognize, I don't pickup and check the number online afterwards. As I can see this number is a scammer, I will add this number to an address book entry called 'telemarketer', which uses a silent ringtone I've installed. The next time they call, my cel will be silent. I may or may not see the call but I definitely won't hear it, which I find really reduces the stress level. The telemarketer contact list will simply get longer, and no voice plan minutes were used.

This number calls me a few times a month, but never leaves a message.  I've never answered when they call as they are calling my personal line.

Called the number back, but there is ZERO ringing, and it's just dead air; the call doesn't disconnect until you do it yourself.

this number calls and no answer,a different number every week or so,they keep changing their numbers.
