Just got a call from this number on my cell phone. Didn't pick up, no message. Number appears to be from Dodge City, Kansas

Called back as I was curious, and the number is not in service.

"Your account has been selected for an American Express special offer".
Except I don't have nor have ever had an AE.
Was in the mood to screw with them but the call dropped before an "operator" picked up.
Definitely a scam coming from a spoofed number.

Same as outlined by SpacemanSpiff above.  Amex cardholders would get a free stay at a "5-star" resort.  Had fun at the caller's expense for several minutes before he finally gave up and hung up.

robot called and said since I was a preferred American Express card holder....hey lady I don't have an American Express card so get your crap together. A few seconds into the recording the call cut off.  Damn, and I was really in the mood to mess with some fricking telemarketer

"Your Amex card has a vacation deal reward" I tried to keep her on as long as possible. She made a claim "this vacation is going to be so good, that you will want to go right back to it." I told her that I liked how bold she was and to tell me more. At that point she caught on to me playing the game. My record with these calls is 8.5 minutes keeping one of these scammers on the line. Fun game

Scam Amex vacation reward crap.  Blocked.

Its a program designed to identify if your phone number is valid; if you answer within 10 minutes you will get robo-calls for solicitations for all sorts of things and canned recordings; Never answer any call anymore unless you know who is calling.  Do Not Call Registry does not matter anymore it seems

Numerous scam calls from here; blocked now.

This is how it started. Call from 620-988-6446.  "Your account has been selected for an American Express special offer".  I was selected to receive a free trip. He tells me to Florida, Bahamas, Taiwan, Dominican Republic. I  reply, I met a chick in Dominican Republic and would love to hit it again. He said I have also been to Dominican Republic. I said rite on. Do you know Sofia? 38DD Sofia? Brown hair, brown eyed Sofia? Eagle tattoo on her left shoulder Sofia?  He said no. Then he said sir, may I tell you about this offer? I said hang on, I'm gettin' another call , please hold I'm really interested in this offer. Give me 2 minutes? He said sir, I cannot hold. I said lemme look to see who's calling. Give me 2 seconds. He said ok sir. I said be right back. I put my phone down and  It took 5 minute's of him saying "Hello sir, are you there?", before he hung up.  So I being the ass i am, called back. This number is no longer in service. BUMMER.   Long story short, he is not reconnecting Sofia and I. Then depression set in.
