went to my voice mail, said they were IRS to sue me,  I 've already filed, recieved, and spoke to IRS, it's a scam

Went to directly to my voice mail, said they were the IRS and going to sue me. i heard on the radio that it's a scam.

computer generated scam call fishing and praying on the unassuming and weak.  Call identifies as the IRS - when will the IRS and our Gov't finally act to shut down these scams for good??

The caller identified himself as Officer Thomas from the IRS.  He gave a badge number  of GS1496 and gave me a case number of A89543.  His English was very broken and i had a difficult time hearing him.  I knew it was a scam but I listened so that I could get all of HIS information.  Once he told me i could be arrested for racism, i hung up.

Same!  I was like what the heck are they talking about, who wants to sue me.  I didn't hear the IRS part though on the message.  Thank you for posting.  So tired of all these wacko calls!

I received the same message that others have received informing me that the IRS has sued me. Thanks for other users of this site, I now know I am not alone being "sued" by these low life scammers. I have reported them to the Do Not Call Registry so someone there may start tracing them out.

I received a voicemail his message said that I was being sued their following a lawsuit saying it was regarding a sex crime. This has to be a scam I'm a stay-at-home mom with four children and barely have internet service on my phone.

DNC is meant for law abiding telemarketers.  Your callers are hard core Indian and Pakistani scammer/extortionists.  Block the  calls and DO NOT pick up on call numbers you do not recognize.

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.   Block and ignore.   DO NOT RETURN THE CALL!

IRS does not initiate contacts by phone.  US mail only.   IRS does not file lawsuits.  IRS has enough administrative authority under the IRS Code and related regulations to collect all taxes lawfully due the federal government.     Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes.  IRS has no powers of arrest as related to ordinary tax disputes.  Having a deficiency in taxes owed by way of audit is NOT a crime.  IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of  money.  IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone.   IRS does not accept Green card money paks or Itunes cards or similar for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.   All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.
