Robo caller calling about donations for cops killed/injured in line of duty.  Call back # just says press # 2 to be placed on DNC.

It was a recording which claimed to be a police organization soliciting funds.  If they are legit, then they are allowed to bypass the do-not-call list and solicit you.  I'm very doubtful they are.  No identifying caller ID.  I've added the number to my watch list.  If they call back again using the same number they will be added to my call blocks.  No point blocking a number that only calls once.

To be perfectly accurate, if the purpose of the call is to solicit funds for a charity, the DNC does not apply even if the lion's share of the monies raised pays the caller's and call center owner's salaries. For profit call centers ( ie paid fund raisers) are allowed to call under the charities rule.  In fact, only sales callers or sales lead generation for a third party callers are required to screen against the DNC before calling.

As far as people CLAIMING to be collecting for Police/Fire, I have friends & family in both fields & they DO NOT solicit for $.
