this number called me and when i answered it, there was a silence, then hung up.

I was doing an evp experiment when they called.

I called the number back immediately, it didnt ring, it was silent.
then it began to make the :out of order: beep.

I have received several calls from this number. Normally I can't answer it in time, but once I did there was no one there?

Hears the deal, its an attempt to hack your phone. I'm not an IT guy but as one explains it, the call is an attempt to find an open port on your phone. The number is an IP address. If you answer the phone and keep the line open to long they can find a open port in your phone. Then they are able to steal what ever you have on your phone or transfer their minutes to you or steal yours or even listen in on your phone calls.
The phone companies claim that this is not possible because of the concern it would cause but it is, and judging by the comments on this site, its happening a lot.

You will know if you have been hacked if your phone starts acting strange. Drop calls, a long time to get messages.

i Have gotten strange phone calls lately from 1-623-238-6080. Everytime i answer i just hear a beep. When i try to call back it has a busy tone!! Its really startin to piss me off!! AAHH! Anything i can do to try to get rid of this f'n caller?
