- JennaCaller ID said LeCafle? didn't leave message, no idea.
- Jenchu| 5 repliesCalled my landline, no message.
- Caller: Scammer?
- KJM replies to Jenchu| 4 repliesYes, it's a scammer or someone playing games. I get a call from this number (originating, I think, in Itasca, IL) around 1 p.m. every day, day in and day out. The guy asks for a person who I don't know but who apparently had our phone number 10 years or more ago. And every day it's the SAME guy calling! I recognize his voice now. He always asks for this person, and at first I told him (the caller) to go away. He doesn't go away. Now I just hang up or allow my voice mail to field the call. Never any message but the guy keeps calling every day. He claims to be with the Illinois Coalition of Police or something (lol) and I wonder if he simply likes to annoy people. What idiot would call day after day after endless day and get a hang up? And then keep calling? People like this ought to be fined and tossed into jail for a while. Maybe their little games would end.
- MikeHuntleton replies to KJM| 3 repliesYou could just try blocking this number and then he can't call you again from it. Might be one of those Donation scammers who are relentless and think people will eventually give in because its just a donation.
- KJM replies to MikeHuntleton| 2 repliesI am unable to block the number. My phone company does not provide that service. This is a landline. Anyway, this is a SCAM outfit and it doesn't really exist. Have reported to the FTC.
- MikeHuntleton replies to KJM| 1 replyNo-mo-ro-bo is a free blocking service for many landlines and you get the benefit of everyone else who reported a number added to their block list, to getting blocked besides the ones you report to them.
- KJM replies to MikeHuntletonYes I know, and thanks, but my carrier does not support that system. The only way to block numbers through my carrier is to upgrade my service (more money) and with my carrier going out in the near future (ending land line service) that doesn't make sense. We are probably going to cut our landline very soon because of this harassing caller and because our carrier will be ending service. The harassing caller has been calling every day for a couple of months at the same time. It's the same person. It is harassment. Reported them to the FTC but they'll probably just change numbers and harass someone else. Thanks anyway.
- RichI answered, and the caller introduced himself as Alex. He said he represented the "Coalition of Law Enforcement" and was soliciting donations to provide better equipment to law enforcement officers. At that time, I told him I was a retired LEO. Then it sounded as though Alex couldn't hear me any more, so I hung up. They typically send pledge cards and bug you if you don't send the money. I doubt the legitimacy of these companies.
- Caller: Lecafle
- MikeCaller ID says "LECAFLE" and they call every day. I've answered now 5 times (they've never left a message the other 10+ times they've called that voice mail picked up) and every time they ask for "William". I explain that there's no William that lives here, nor has there ever been and ask to be taken off their call list (I'm on the state and national Do Not Call lists) at which point he just hangs up. It's always the same guy calling.
- Caller: LECAFLE
- Call type: Scam suspicion
