Called work, home, and cell. This number was on caller ID. They left a message with case number and to call 888-686-9475. Plenty of info pointing to scam if you search for 888-686-9475.

called and wanted wife to call 800 number, wouldn't say what it was about

Called left message, when call returned, refused to identify reason for call. Identified themselves as an acquisition company. Suspect call was from false debt collection.

Yes, these are known debt extortion scammers.


It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Just called and said I have a judgement pending for a defaulted loan and they have reported to all of my cc cards and have tried to serve me papers and will garnishing my wages...lol! This is from a debt from 15 years ago! Everything I have is current! I told them they can first report this to my credit because it's not on there and second that they can send me something in writing and she said nope this call is over I'm going to garnish your wages! So stupid! Good luck trying to take my money without any proof! Such scammers!

This so called company said I have judgement against me for a credit card when I was younger for $10,000.00. I have never had but one credit card for a limit of $200.00. I don't know how they got the last 4 of my social. That's scary.
