got call on 9:20 9/6/07  didnt pick up anyone know what this is???

Got the same call at the same time, Illinois call, 630-870-1272 at 9:20 on 9/6.  Didn't answer.

Got a call from 630-870-1272 on 9/7/07 at 12:50pm.  I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.

call (630) 870-1272 on 09-09-2007, no message. 2.20.p.m.

I just called the number and got a recording; claims it is Amvets seeking help for their programs.

Been getting them for the last week approx 2 times a day.

Been getting calls from this number frequently in the last 2wks.  No reply, no message

Getting this call for the past one week. No message, calls come about twice a day. I have registered my number at Donotcall.gov and still get this call.

Been getting calls from same number same deal no message says local call.
Did some research this phone line originates from Aurora Illinois and the carrier is Level 3 Comm, IL.  Thats all I know.  I own a collection agency and thought I'd let you know, if this is a collection agency calling they are violating the FDCPA at $1,000 per call when the use Local Call as the name on the caller ID.

Got this call today. The guy sounded creepy and raised his voice when I didn't answer his question clearly the first time. He asked if one of my parents was home (using my mother's last name instead of my father's last name when referring to my father. He said 'bye now..." when he hung up. Freaked me the [***] out.

No one there. Background noise was all.

I get this call about once a week ---HOW DARE these slimey ________ use the name of an agency that is suppose to HELP OUR AMERICAN VETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Report these people to donotcall.gov - if we ALL do it, maybe they will rot in ---- a place they need to be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOT A CALL from this number..man on phone was very rude...said "put a man on the phone"..so I hung up. Now calling at least once a day. I have no-call but still getting these annoying calls. Said he was from Amvets.

caalled twice in last two days. hung up when i answereed.

I just got this call. We have an AMVETS pick-up scheduled for Monday so I assume that this was just the reminder call gone awry.

A Note of Caution:
I got the same call from a guy that says that he represents Amvets.  We have donated clothes and household goods to Amvets for years, but had never received a call about providing money.

My husband mentioned that the Amvets guy had called and was pretty rude and didn't want to leave his name during one phone conversation. So, I decided that I would answer the call when he called back. When I mentioned that my husband had indicated that someone was rude when they had called before, the guy lied and said that the campaign had just started the day before (we have the number listed multiple times on our caller ID). Once I realized that he was lying, I told him that we would not be providing any support to his campaign, but would continue to provide clothing and household goods to Amvets. I guess that that was just enough to send him over the edge. He became very rude, raised his voice, and then tried to demand that I tell him what other organizations that I supported. I refused to give him any information, told him to remove my number from his list, and hung up on him.

Well, today Amvets calls indicating that they will be picking up goods in the next couple of weeks and asked if we would have anything to put out. I told the lady about the Amvets guy phone call. She said that I should report this him because Amvets does not solicit money. How interesting!

Just a note of caution.

A friend got a call last night from 1-630-870-1272 stating they were with AMVETS. Please, anyone getting a call like this, don't give them the tme of day. AMVETS does not make calls asking for money. Never, ever. I am a member of AMVETS and know this to be true. I am reporting the call to the AMVETS headquarters. AMVETS is a very reputable Veterans Service organization. Our mission is Vets helping Vets, we do not appreaciate the fact that some low life is using the name AMVETS in this manner.

We've gotten calls from this number two nights in a row.  Let it ring through - no msgs.
