Called my cell 2x, 5/8 and 5/14 no message left. Called the number from a land line today and get a recording that this number is not in service.

I live in Evanston, IL . This number calls 3 times a day. I screen my calls and do not pick up unless they start talking and I know who it is. They always hang up before the machine picks it up which I think means they let it ring 3 times and know a machine will get it or no one is home so the robo-caller or person hangs up.

This number is calling 9+ times a day (I'm not kidding) starting at 8:45 a.m.  and even on Sundays. The area code is local (I'm in a suburb of Chicago).  I have no idea who it is and don't pick up unless I know. The caller ID says Illinois Call. This has been going on for 2 solid months. They never leave a message but hang up after 3 rings. If it's someone I owe money to or a bill collector (which it might be; I was recently in the hospital) this isn't the way to do business.  There is little info on these sites and hardly anyone reporting this # so I'm stumped.

At the same time (might be a coincidence) I'm getting buried by calls from "Illinois number", "Montana number" "Iowa number" etc to my home phone land line AND my cell, who no one but family has and I've never given out to a soul.  This is 10+ times a day, too.

Want to stop repeated telescam phone calls?
    Try these alternatives:

    1.  Do not answer the phone if you see an unknown number on your Caller ID ... let it go to answering machine or voicemail.  Many telescammers hang up after 3 rings.

    2.  If you have a smartphone, get one of the inexpensive or free phone blocker apps at your online app store, and learn how to use it.

    3.  If your cel is not "smart", read the manual to learn how to set up a "group".  Assign the scammer's phone number to that group.  Also assign a "silent ring" to that group.  You will not hear future calls from that number.

    4.  For cels or landlines: Contact your phone service provider.  They may have a facility or method to allow you to block numbers.

    5.  If you buy things online, you might want to google "phone blocker" to see what devices or apps Amazon or other sites have to offer for landlines or smartphones.

    6.  DO NOT call unknown numbers back!  Instead, read this:
