- LizzySo they called I listened like every other bride and yes it seems to be a scam. I cannot believe after all this time they are still pulling this stuff!!
I got a call from Joanna too, when I naively called back they said she had stepped away.
I asked David's Bridal to take me off their call list they give to vendors. Also you have to call EVERY David's you have been too to get off of each list. I went to the one in Feasterville and Philly since they have different stock.- Caller: 21st century

- AnnoyedYES! I went to a bridal expo in Houston, TX and put my name in their drawing. Not till after wards while talking with friends did they say, NO I shouldn't have gave them my info, because now they will never stop calling. Which so far has been true, I've been getting calls from this place for about a month now. Something about I've won a china set from them and needed to call to claim it. At first they left messages (each time was a different person) now they don't leave messages any more, but are still calling.
It is so annoying! WISH I SAW THIS SITE BEFORE HAND!!! - Annoyed Bride| 1 replyI got the same call, but it wasn't Joanna this time, it was Casandra and she also called from the same number, but told me to return her call at (631) 271-2025 ext 4175. It is most definitely David's Bridal. I've been on Brides.com for awhile, but as soon as I registered with David's Bridal, I began receiving the calls. I couldn't really understand where she was calling from, but she said my name had been drawn from a National Bridal Registry Raffle, and that a prize was being held for me for a limited time.
Beware, this is only going to be the beginning of people looking to scam us during this important time in our lives.- Caller: Awards Center...

- LauraI received a call from this number claiming they were Chef World. The woman's name was Claudia. I had won something (never told me what), but that I needed to give her a call back as soon as possible as they couldn't hold it for long. She told me to call her back at 631-271-2025 x4242. I thought that looked strange, but I figured I'd call and if they asked for any information other than an address to send the package, that I would hang up. When I called the number she told me, it rang and rang. I then decided to call the original number (they called on my cell and I didn't pick up) it sounded like a fax machine or something. I don't know what's up. I had filled out some wedding information stuff, but had not registered with Chef World. I thought it might be like David's Bridal's partnership, such as their partnership with ourweddingday.com or something. I figure if I wasn't expecting this gift in the first place, it isn't going to hurt me not to call back on the chance it is a scam. I wish I had seen this before I wasted a few minutes of my life trying to call back a scam.

- Laura replies to Annoyed BrideMy experience is about the same, but it didn't happen soon after I registered with David's Bridal. I registered with them in late November and got my call today (1/8/10). They gave me the same number to call back but different extension. I was disappointed to see people trying to take advantage of us brides (and some grooms?) when we should be excited, not watching every move we make so we don't get scammed! I don't understand how someone could take people's money and feel satisfied about themselves. Sickening. Good luck with your wedding!
- CRYSTALI also received a call from this same number claiming I won a trip and gift basket. Don't call back it is a scam. I am so glad that I found this website!
- Chicago BrideApparently this scam has been going on for a while! I ignored a call from 631-470-7338. The voicemail is the same as everyone's described: I've won a bridal package trip and it can only be held for a short time; call back at 631-271-2025 extension 8291. This time it was "Colleen". I called back and luckily for me it rang once and then nothing. I googled the number and found this site (should've done that first!)
I am registered with David's Bridal, but in the voicemail she mentioned the Chicago/Milwaukee Bridal Expo that I didn't even attend. (They WERE giving away prizes supposedly at this expo, which prompted me to return the call. Grrr.) - CaraI just received the call from 631-470-7338 claiming I won all this fabulous stuff as well. I was told this is not a timeshare but an actual prize. Yet I needed to schedule an hour appointment this weekend to pick up my "prize" package. I asked why this was necessary and the woman told me they need to explain the prize to me. I'm fairly intelligent so I asked if they could just send me the information in an email and then I could pick up the prize without an appointment. At this point she got upset with me and asked if I wanted her to pass on my prize to another bride. So not only was my workday interupted to take this call from a pushy sales associate, but I was made to feel bad as if I was passing up a great opportunity. It was almost like she was trying to make me feel bad so that I would agree to get sucked in to their scam.
The woman also talked very fast and it took me a while to get her to explain why she was calling me, rather than her usual style of talking around it. I tried dresses on at Davids but never provided them with my phone number. The woman who called me claimed they get information from a number of sources including the popular website the knot.- Caller: Chef World

- CaitI received a phone call from the same number tonight claiming I won a 3 day vacation, a $1000 grocery gift certificate and a 20% discount on some store. They claimed it was Cookware or something? She talked so fast I couldn't really understand her. They knew my fiance's name, and said he HAD to be there to pick up the prize. When I told them he is out of the country, she said they'd be in touch and acted really weird. I was really excited until my mom told me it was a scam....The only place I have ever given this kind of information to was David's Bridal. I've never gone to any expos or Bridal shows. How unprofessional of them!!

- meI was a vendor and a bride at a show where there was a Chef World Rep. The show gave all of the vendors a list of the brides attending the show (this was stated on the entry form even though some brides were still upset about their info being given out). I talked with the rep there who would not even look at me when talking. Now I am also getting these calls stating that I won from that event. This is not the first time that the company has called as I have attended as a bride to other functions. Not answering the phone to numbers I don't know.

- EmmaI think David's Bridal gave out my information as well. I didn't start receiving phone calls or tons of bridal junk mail until after I visited their store. Jerks.

- SabrinaI got a call from this number someone named Angela who I really couldn't understand claiming I won a prize and they'd hold it only for a limited time. Glad I checked this out before calling back, it was suspicious to begin with she spoke very quickly and you couldn't understand where she was calling from and it took me a minute to recognize the word bridal.
