This guy with a rich Indian accent has called me 5 times a day for the past 2 days. His Voicemail message says that his name is John Lester and he is a Legal academic professor with the Dept of Customer affairs and business regulation, USA. Nature of the call is to inform me that they have received an affidavit a 3 allegation case against my bank and my SS#. and better that I call so we can discuss important issues.
Same guy has called from 646-448-4334, 646-794-5539

I do have some collections but I know which calls those are!

they have been calln me as well. but he gave me a different name... did he leave you a address?

i have been recieving calls from males with indian or hindu accents. each time a different name but im pretty sure theyre the same people. anyhow, they call to say there are collecting a debt that i dont have on monies never recieved. threatening me with jail n etc. saying my social and name will be black ball from a series of things....what do i do about this?

This is a SCAM. I got voice message from an guy named john lester who had a thick Indian accent and claimed he was from "consumer affairs and business regulation". I returned the call and the exact same guy answered but used a different name. He claimed i had unpaid loans and continued with threats of legal actions. He refused to release any specific information on my "so called" loan i owed and after 30mins of arguing, I hung up on him.

Later I goggled "consumer affairs and business regulation" and their offices are only located in Massachusetts. The area code in the number (646) 448-0334 i received is from New York. In addition, during the time my argument with john lester took place ,the actual "consumer affairs and business regulation" offices were CLOSED. Tomorrow, i attend to contact the real "consumer affairs and business regulation" warn them someone is falsely representing them. Hopefully some catches this guy who is ruining peoples holiday season.

This person with an Indian Accent stating that I was pre approved for a loan, stated could help me, and when I gave him all my bank information, he stated that I would have to go to wal mart to get a green dot money back recharge voucher for $100. When I told him I would not do that, he stated he would allow the loan to go through if I would go on a date with him, when I called the number back it's the same guy that picks up acting to be someone else with the name of Harris Richards... This is definitely a scam.

This is a final notice from the IRS.  The IRS is filing a lawsuit against you.  Call this number immediately for more information.

Seems the scammers are reviving old numbers.  They must be running out!  It's a SCAM, grams.  Ignore it, block it, never answer calls from numbers or persons you don't recognize.

I received two calls from this number this afternoon. Each had a recorded female voice stating that this was a final call from the IRS and that I was being sued or something like that. After the second call, I called the number back; and a man with an Indian sounding voice said "Internal Revenue Service" and stated that his name was John Martin or Miller.  He started going into his spiel and I started on a tirade about how they are frauds taking advantage of poor innocent people and senior citizens. I asked him how he could live with himself.  At some point I received a dialtone. I am sure I'll receive another call another day but I did feel good giving him my opinion.

I got the identical message.

A computer generated voice with poor grammar.  "The IRS is....filing suit...against..you"  I can't believe anyone falls for this.

Keep getting calls from "IRS regarding a lawsuit". Please stop them.

*IGNORE* and *BLOCK*  all fake irs calls. 800 notes cannot stop spam calls, it's a REPORTING site.

Thanks for the links! Received the same type of call from 646-448-0358. It was an obvious scam, but I am sure some poor souls take the bait and pay these criminals money.
