This guy has called for one of my employees for the past few months, using different names, even after being told not to call.  I can tell it is the same guy calling every time, due to his distinct Indian accent.  He always gives very Anglo names like Matt Watson or John Davis, though I suppose that could be his name since India was a Brittish colony for so long.

I keep getting these same types of calls from a gentleman named Matt Watson who has an Indian accent. He claims to be from the Department of Law & Investigation NY. Says I have an outstanding pay day loan. I don't understand how this man got all of my information. He calls me at work and on my cell all hours of the day and night. When I asked the name of the company he was representing he told me he couldn't give me that information because it would be deformation of character for his company, which he previously told me was gffe financial. After being contacted by this man I was also contacted by a Jason Smith and a Jason Sheldon both claiming to be with Andy Brown Law Offices. This is all fraud....beware!

I had the same exact story happen to me right around Christmas, and they called when I was the busiest at work. I still get calls from different places all the time; it is indeed very frustrating, I wonder all the time if these calls will ever stop.
I am considering changing all my phone numbers because of it.
    VERY Frustrated!

OMG this is my story too, his name is now David Allan and he is with the Department of Law and Investigation, money deposited-has alot of my information.  I am following thru with this with Atty general fraud FL, FBI and Federal Trade Commision, i am going to fight back because, the first time a family member got the call and thought they were doing me a favor. the caller was Sean Black, he was attorney and then an office and then he threatned me with the law and he would get me fired and make my life misserable. i have the fax number etc and will fight this and get my family member back her money--called from 000-000-0000 I will not rest until i get justice.  Law suite? I will join.

I have been getting very similar calls from an Indian sounding gentleman named Emanuel Jones, Simon Taylor, or Richard Black.  Sometimes the number is 360-215-2550.  Very disturbing. This type of harassment needs to stop!

Got a call from this number with message stating that I was being sued by the IRS.  Not my first rodeo with this scam from many different numbers.  I called the back & got some guy that sounded like the Nigerians that have been catfishing the women all over the USA.  Gave him a few not so nice opinions of my own.

Digital voice recording claiming to be IRS and threatened to sue unless I call the number (same number on my caller ID).  I assume they wait for someone to call back to validate the cold call number so they can focus attention or sell the number to other scammers. As much as it sounds satisfying to call and [***] them out, recommend just hanging up and blocking the number.

Old IRS scam.  Did not recognize name on caller ID so did not answer.  Msg left on answering machine was similar to what Mike noted above - digital voice claiming to be IRS.  Omitted the part about "let us help you..."  Won't be returning the call.

Got 2 calls this morning from this number. They left messages and I only received the last part of the message. They said it was urgent and referred to a case number. I looked the number up and found that it is in Manhatten, NY City. I worked in the communications industry for 40 years and did a lot of security audits. I know one old scam was to forward a number to a 900 number, so when you called back you'd be charged about $40 a minute. They would try to keep you on the phone as long as possible. Have any of you checked your phone bills and found charges like that.
The IRS will not call you about payment. The IRS send you a letter via USPS. Never respond to a phone caller claiming to be from the IRS. By US law, if it is a legit collection agency, all you need to do is tell them never call you again. You don't owe the collection agency, you owe the company to which the debt was incurred. If you refuse phone contact the collection agency can only institute legal action to collect the debt.

Also, never pay over the phone. Have them send you a bill and pay by check or money order. If they don't send a bill, ignore the call. This is easier to tack since an address and company name will be on your payment and they will loose mobility. They will have to stay in the same place for months in order to get your money.  Contact the FCC and report any violations of the No Call List and collection agencies that ignore you "don't call back".
