Received a text from this # wanting to know if the boat is still for sale. Feel it might be a scam after reading other peoples notes. I will update if anything more comes of it.

Looks like a scam to me, here is what the guy wrote back to me.

Sean sent you a text message to email me for the sale,I would like to
know the lowest price,more pictures and its current condition because
i cant come over to inspect it,i am buying it locally here in Canada
for my son studying/working in abroad (Malaysia).
I work at sea as i am a marine biologist (i work  on the St-Lawrence
river in Quebec. my office: Pilotes du Bas-St-Laurent] and due to the
nature of my work, phone calls is restricted, i can only use my iPad
to partially communicate.I am really sure he will be more than happy
if i am able to purchase it from you because this is what he want and
chose from the Advert.
 You need not worry yourself about how it will get to him there in
Malaysia as i have a contact of shipping company there that will be
handling the pick up and all the paper work.

It’s the Overpayment Scam.  The way it works, the caller agrees to buy the item without ever seeing it.  He sends you a cashier’s check for more than the price.  You deposit the check and wire the excess to a shipper the buyer has selected.  Your wired money clears instantly.  The buyer’s check bounces.  Your bank charges you the amount of money in the account plus a fee for depositing a bad check.  

The buyer and shipper share the shipping fee you wired them.  You never hear from them again.  

Tell the buyer the sale is cash only, with the item to be picked up in person.  Or ignore the message.  

BTW - the buyer can only contact you by iphone because he doesn't want you to hear his pronounced Indian or Nigerian accent.

Got the same on my phone this morning at 1:35 am saying the xact thing that was posted....the details where identical.

Just got an email from the same person wanting to do the transaction through paypal....don't do it!! My suggestion to everyone that gets this-Have fun with it!! Give them bogus information ie; a bank that you don't deal with,bogus acct info etc...use your imagination-These type of people will never go away as they are the cockroaches of society...so you might as well play with them...could piss them off-thats alaways fun;-)
