Total scam! (646) 652-7349. Claims to be Hagen and  Berman Associates and Barnes & Thornbnerg. The number is associated with a wireless carrier. Claim to have an in paid payday loan (BMG) from July 2011. I did take out payday loans but they were paid or settled. They refuse to give any to very information about loan number for security reasons, they threaten to file in court and are insulting.
I've called back and called them out that they're liars. I called the real law firms (googled the info and went through secretary of states business search where real locations located). They say that my accusations are false and they're a real company and hung up on me.
BEWARE!

I believe they are a real company - I have a distant relative that I don't know who has lots of legal trouble (all student loans from what I can piece together) and I get tons of calls for her.  This number called me and left a message asking for her.  They were talking about two law suits that are being filed against her.  They did say something about "you've officially been served"....and you can't serve over the phone.

I called back and said I didn't know her and they removed my number.

A "real" company who violates the FDCPA, harasses people who don't owe, and tries to scam people?  Don't you mean that you think they are "real crooks"?

The two companies are real companies but the number
646-652-7349 (in my opinion) is from a crooked company.

A bunch of low life scammers!  They use real law firm names and tell you they have satellite office locations across the country.

You can google the law firms but the number  646-652-7349 isn't associated with any of the real law firms who DO NOT deal with debt collection.  The scammers are rude and say it's a privacy policy to not give out information such as business address and state/local business license number.
