4:42 pm June 22, 2023.  No message, just dial tone. I did not answer, now blocked to my land line number.

Didn't answer - they left a message. Automated voice about a survey taking 5-8 mins. First question was asking if I live on vancouver island, and included a callback number (for any questions) that did match the caller ID number (I didn't call it)

This was a robocall from a survey company

Robot survey call says, "Hi. We're calling from Polaris Strategic Insights, one of Canada's leading public opinion research firms. We are conducting a quick survey of people living in your area. This survey would take about five to eight minutes of your time. If you have any questions or concerns, you can reach us at 647-375-3790. For statistical purposes, we'd like to know your age bracket. Press one if you are younger than 18. Press two if you are aged 18 to 34. Press three if you are 35 to 54. Press four if you are 55 or older."

They're conducting a "push poll" - a poll funded by companies designed not to find out what you think but to change your opinion on something by asking biased questions.  They're currently doing one on a publicly funded pharmacare program for Canada, asking questions like "would you be in favour of this plan if a lot of people, mostly women, lost their jobs at private insurance companies because of it."  Very misleading and outrageous claims about how much it would cost.  Every country that has a public healthcare plan has a pharmacare program with the cost of medications a fraction of what we pay in Canada, so it can't be as hard to do as they make out.
