- Maggie| 6 repliesSeveral robo messages have been left saying "Chambers 756624. This is not a solicitation or a telemarketing call. It is imperative you call back today." It was actually an 866 area code # initially. I ignored them cause if Chambers was a company name, I have no dealings with them. It is not my name nor anyone I know. The messages stopped but started again, this time saying it is about Gina Chambers, it is imperative..." I called the Toronto # they left, and when they say I was calling from work, an anonymous #, they hung up, after laughing and saying "nice--anonymous number." I called back and identified the phone # they were leaving messages at but they wanted my name. I don't want to give them as it is they who have already invaded my privacy. He was very rude and said "ok that's fine if you don't want to co-operate and now we have you on tape" and then he hung up. The company's name is ACRM, apparently a collections agency. We do not owe any such bills. Consumers Affairs says they are a licensed debt collector. License to harass and bully people who pay their bills evidently. To ACRM: Be creative, earn your money and look somewhere else for "Gina."

- Annoyed| 3 replies647-497-6995 ROBOCALL, today at 8am, name showing ACRM... Picked up, then saw ACRM, and hung up. BLOCKED right away.
They called in January 2024 twice/ROBOCALL with the ph# 877-503-9633, the first time they left a msg. "Important business call. This is not a sales call. If you are "NOT MY NAME", press 1, or return our call if you are not "NOT MY NAME" so we can update our record @ 1-866-580-5355, email actionscollections.com. Ref.file# XXXXXXXX.
I have my landline phone number for over 20 years, I do not know this person they are calling for, I do have one of the highest achievable credit scores, have no bills unpaid, no loan, no credit, all credit card bills always paid in time, had never anything to do with a debt collector. I BLOCKED THIS NUMBERf after reading prob. HUNDREDS of google rewies, who are kind of all the same: rude SCAMMERS, who do not stop calling, after they receive the request "I am not the person you are calling for, do not call anymore".
4 days later my display showed that they called again, but they were not able to leave a msg., because I let it ring 1 time before the BLOCK function sets in.
Today they called with this different # 647-497-6995, which I blocked also.- Caller: 647-497-6995

- Annoyed replies to Annoyed| 2 repliesThey are looking for someone with name *James Meynard*. I have never heard this name, I live at the same address with the same (unlisted) phone# for over 20 years, I don't know this man.
These scammers started calling for him. I will not call back or email them to info@actioncollections.com to clear things up, since I am sure that they will increase the frequency of their calls. No matter which number they call from, they will be blocked. - BigA replies to Annoyed| 1 replySomeone mentioned that you are replying to yourself over at WCM and now here. Do you always do that? Maybe you have memory problems where you forget that you already posted? So tell me, was the first post actually a phone call or were you lying about that and that it was actually an email? Because when people like you come up with these big eloquent stories about not owing anything and having no credit yet having a really high credit score which would be impossible if you have no credit I have to wonder if this isn't really a valid collection call/email?

- TonyThis is a scam caller, they call me 3 times a day looking for a different person, I have this number for tge last 25 years, I keep on telling them they have the wrong number and they do NOT stop calling, a few times they try to scam me in to give my personal information, I am a man, they are looking for a woman, I put many requests to delete my phone number but they just keep on calling so annoying, I blocked 11 phone numbers from them and they leave messages
- David GrayThese are horrible people. They have called me several times for people I don't know. Even after explaining to them this is a business phone and we have no connection to whomever they are trying to reach, they will repeatedly call. IF YOU ARE A CREDITOR USING THIS COMPANY and I can determine who you are, I will mount a boycott of you. And Ontario Consumer Protection is particularly unhelpful - dont bother with them.
- Mig LanderskogName in caller ID shows as ACRM (collection agency). First call I got from them was from a 1866 number on my business phone number. After answering it hung up, so blocked that 1866 number. received another call from 647-497-6995 2 days later, showing ACRM again, didn't pickedup the call, got no voicemail to call them back. I Worked for a collection agency and this is suspicious that I didn't had a voicemail, so blocked that second number right away. P.S, scam callers are using this name I guess, I have no unpaid bill or passed due.

- Leslie replies to Maggie| 5 repliesBy the way, they're not real bill collectors. And if a real bill collector starts yelling at you, you shouldn't bother. Hang up the phone and to record them. And then report them
- BigA replies to Leslie| 4 repliesYou stopped by to spread misinformation by replying to a post made in 2013 and expecting that person to stop back and be able to use your advice 11 years later? It does seems like they are licensed and that person even checked and they were licensed so that means that they are a "real bill collector".
- KNow you rights and your facts! replies to BigA| 3 repliesNo, they are not the legal holder of the account you had agreement with. The legal agreement you had with a contract ends the moment it changed hands. They are scammers looking for old unpaid accounts from various companies which that information can be obtain publicly that is why equal fax and trans union in trouble falling for these scammers claiming to be legit business because they paid $100 form a business license. These people will contact equal fax and trans union claiming you applied for something when you never did and that they are doing a credit check to see if you qualify and that is where these companies like equal fax and trans union screw up giving out information they should never had given! Do not give them time of day you have NO-Binding contract with them! Meaning they can not take you to court they can not garnish your wages they have NO legal recourses they can do nothing to you! So block their number don't answer their calls! You never made a legal contract with them hence they have no rights. They have no real documentation to back up their so-called claims either. It's all public information that anyone can obtain and they try to collect on things that will still remain on your credit if you ever gave them money so don't fall for their scam, they are not legit anyone can be a registered company the license costs $100 so if you really knew your stuff you would had known all this and more which based on your comments you have no clue! FYI there is also statue of limitations as well look it up the original creditor you had agreement with can not come after you legally if time expired! Companies write off debts under bad debts and once that original contract person had done that no other company can claim on it because it had been written off! Don't fall for these bottom feeder scammers! They are not the company you had a signed agreement with there fore you don't have to speak to them or give them time of day! Know your facts and your rights because making comments on any sites.
- BigA replies to KNow you rights and your facts!| 2 repliesI should listen to someone who has at best a 3rd grade grasp of the English language? How about you cite some laws since you seem to be so knowledgeable? For that matter why didn't you post proof in your reply to begin with? "equal fax" Seriously? You should look up the words "right to assignment". as well. Seems contracts in Canada have them just like in the US.
- Dave SmithFormer debt collector here. Number belongs to ACRM. Third party collections out of Toronto. I'm assuming that they are trying to collect on stat barred files...files that have either been paid off and mistakenly listed, or written off and are beyond the statute of limitations in terms of them being able to legally collect.
They've called me several times and VM was in my name, but I do not have any debts in bad standing, so I ignore them. My advice...don't talk to them, because if there is an old debt in your name that you're unaware of, then they can reset the statute of limitations if you confirm your identity and put a hit on your credit report.
If you legitimately owe money, then they will send a letter out to you, detailing what debt is owed. Since they haven't done that, I'm assuming that they are looking for someone with the same name as mine, as I've been at the same address for decades now.
If you say that it's you, then they will add your contact info to their file and try to collect from you...and they won't leave you alone until you have a lawyer contact them to tell them that you're the wrong person, because debtors lie, and they don't know that you're not lying.
Best to just ignore and block them if you have no outstanding debts, and if you do, then quit dodging them and pay your bill, because I'm tired of them calling me looking for you, Dave!- Caller: ACRM

- Know your rights because I do LEGALLY! replies to BigAHow about you actually go take Canadian Business law at University as I had go ask legal lawyers as I had, not doing your work for you. Is that the best you can do scammer Troll is make issue over the way I communicate....LOL As for my English There is nothing wrong with the way I communicate. You obviously lacking in intelligence if you have to tell someone else to do your research for you.
Only those parties involved in the original contract are bound by the terms of the contract and can enforce the contractual obligations under the contract. Providing the "statute of limitations" has not expired.
Hence the original owner of the contract such as a business, company or person must take legal action on their own before that "Statue of Limitations" time period runs out.
Any business, company or person that writes off the debt can not claim on that debt or sell that debt to another because that is fraud! The party that did not sign a contract with a third party therefore they are not and can not be held bound to the contract that had been written off. The terms of the contract changed making it no longer valid the moment the party written of the debt or passed off the debt to a collection agency.
A third party that is not a party to the contract does not have privity of contract and cannot enforce the obligations under the contract.
Is that simplified enough for your unintelligence mind to comprehend.
No collection agency can do anything to anyone because they are NOT the original party the person or business had a contract with!
Any debt collector that is not the original party in the original signed contract can not do anything legally and can not force anyone to pay them either. Collection agency can be held liable for harassment and be fined $500 per phone they made to anyone they did NOT have a legal signed binding contract with. Meaning if you are not the original person, business, company that signed that contract with the other party you are SOL!
Have a blessed day you ignorant Troll!
If you don't know the law go to University! - Know your rights I know mine Legally replies to BigAActs of harassment threating phone calls, violence or threats of any kind that makes a person feel unsafe or damaging someone else's property or etc are criminal offenses to which you and your scumbag trollies can be charged.
