They called my cell, then my office.  When I returned the call to find out what it was about they had a two year old bill they were trying to collect from a Gastroeneroligist office that I thought had long been settled by the insurance company, when I tried to explain this I was told obviously the insurance is not going to pay so you need to.  The man would not let me talk, I asked him to please let me finish a sentence to which he told me, since you are not letting me talk I am going to mark this that you refused to pay and it will be on your credit report until you do pay.  I said wait a second I never said that I just wanted to talk out the situation, and I asked why I hadn't received a bill from his office you must have my address and he hung up on me.   So he threatened me, hung up on me, and when I tried to return the call to further rectify, put me on hold and never came back.  Not a reputable company, to which I have found the address and am going to make a little visit my next day off and give that man a piece of my mind.  How dare he lie......I never refused anything, just wanted to understand what had happened.

Jessie, if you have their address, how about sharing it with the rest of us so we can all send them a "drop dead" letter?  Thanks.

They are trying to collect a bill that was paid before they ever made their first call here.  They will not listen.

From what I gather, and what I see posted here, it sounds like possibly these guys think the thuggish bully approach is the way to go?  If so, someone needs to educate them to the fact that this is not the way to start a conversation, especially if they are in any way crossing the line in the process.  It seems clear that Jessie would have paid if they had been civil, and shown that the debt was legitimate.

To those out there in the collection world, if you are smart, you will at least begin with people in a civil manner.  You can always switch to "Vinnie Barbarino" later.

Very unprofessional. They call and never leave messages so no one would know they contacted you. And in the case if anything happens there going to say we called you but you refused to answer. I dont pick up my phone to people who call and do not leave messages if im un able to attend to the phone. Representatives stop you when your talking and cut you off, do not sound polite or say your welcome or thank you, or even byes.

This is a business they called for one of our employees.  We do not pull employees off our production floor for personal calls unless it is a Family Emergency.

This lady told me they were "an Attorney's Office needing to speak with Mr.  XXXXX to which I replied I could not bring him to the phone at this time.  

I am NOT the answering service for collectors!  Can you help?

These people are very inconsiderate and very unprofessional. They di not listen. This guy who handles the debt needs to be fired. He is rude and very unprofessional.

We all know Debt Collectors suck no matter what. But, I must say the woman I dealt with at this company was very friendly and helpful. Similar to above ^ "Jessie's" situation. I had a debt from my Gyno's office for the remaining amount of a bill that my insurance did not cover. They don't tell the debt collectors WHY. They will not be able to tell you because they truly don't know.

I must say though I paid the debt the beginning of last month and was told I was going to receive a letter in the mail. I haven't. I was also told that within 30 days it was going to be taken off of my credit report. It hasn't.

You might have been scammed. You can try contacting the company for the missing paid off notice and remind them about the credit report but I bet they feign total ignorance.

It is curious that you never received a bill from your doctor for the portion not covered by insurance.  All the doctors my wife and I use are very good at letting you know what the uncovered portion of the bill is, how much they write off and how much you still owe.

If she was so "very friendly and helpful" then why hasn't she sent you the letter she promised, or taken it off of your credit report?

More importantly, why did she post here more than a month after she claims she got such friendly service?

Not to mention posting more than 6 months after the last post.

These people keep calling a relatives home and then saying they have the wrong number, however, they turn around and call right back.

These people are very inconsiderate and very unprofessional. Tasha just call me phone a swearing at me to pay a 5 year old dedt.They will not get a dime from me I will pay the original owner......

Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act Section 805 (C), it is my right to request that you cease contact with me. I am exercising my right to do so with this letter. I request that you immediately CEASE and DESIST all contact with me.
With this notice, under the law, you can now only contact me to:
