Got the call. Didn't answer. No message.

They called me this afternoon 2 times in a row and both times did not leave a message.

called 3 times but too weak to understand

called this evening  machine answered - "hello, hello, hello" then hung up

This number has called several times recently but never leaves a message.

Yeah, they have called me almost every day now.  They just called tonight.

I have them on "Spam ID" so it's a waste of these POS folks to call me.

Fraternal Order of Police... soliciting donations and paying very little to the organization benefactors they claim to be collecting for, giving well less than 5-10% of the funds collected. Read this article to see how little they pay and info on others that do the same scams.

Sad that they are using others as a front, but since they dribble some $ to the recipient it's legal just not moral they way the stuff their own pockets $$$ many times over (80+ cents out of every dollar) vs. what they actually pass along. Consider a direct donation to your local law enforcement instead of these profiteers.

ID only as the number.   Very similar number 682-267-0233  called June 27.  No message in either case.  I will not donate to any charity that calls, particularly one that does not pass on most of the money to the cause!  (Check the Susan B. Komen folks on thta by the way, they spend most of their money on themselves)

Fraternal Order of Police. Sounds like a professional police officer but I know that it's only a person playing the part and the police only get piddily money. I don't donate to calls such as this but I decided to play. He gave me the spiel as usual, blah, blah, and make you feel guilty if you don't donate. I asked how much of my donation would actually go to help the police? He stated the max would be 10%. I told him that surely wasn't much going to the actual police and their families. Long pause.......then he asked me to repeat the question. I repeated it and he didn't know how to answer it but that I could go online and look at the site. I then asked if only 10% is actually given to the police, where does the other 90% go? Long pause again...... He then said that it was a very good  question and that I could go to the actual site and he gave me the web address for more information. I let him spell out the website address and said thank you and hung up. I felt quite amused with myself for playing so well.

Note: This is just one of the numbers in a bank starting with 682-267-02XX.  While it may sound legitimate this is a scam.  Any police officer or sheriff's deputy in the state of Texas will confirm that.
Those of you that let the calls roll to your answering machine, voicemail or worse yet answered the call you have just ensured you will receive more of these calls.  Maybe not from the same number, but they’ve just identified your number as valid which almost assures more calls.  Most of the initial calls originate from software (aka; ‘robocalls’) – once your number is identified as active, then a real person may be there on the follow up calls.  If you have the capability to ‘block’ the number that called – that is the best action.  If you don’t have a blocking option, keep a phone with caller ID close by and simply hit ‘talk’ and ‘off’ simultaneously.  This will reduce the number of nuisance calls, but not stop them.  If you really want to block them – there is software available that a layman can install.  So the message is simple – blocking works….
Additionally;  The Area Code, Exchange or even the entire number displayed on your caller ID may not accurately reflect the origin of a call as many of these crooks use software that disguises the originating number.
PS:  I think Call Notes should add a 'Call Type' for 'Spoof' or 'Scammer Calls'!

called and never leave a message...very annoying especially during dinner time with family...they should be arrested and charged for harassment.  this is an invasion of my privacy and i never gave any of the solicitor permission to call.  i hope and pray that other solicitors call this number (682-248-0248) and give them what they deserve
