calls saying they are collection a debt that is over 15 years old that is no longer on my credit report

They Called several times today from different numbers Every time they asked for me by name claimed to be a debt collector from an old paid off  account.  Had lots of my info ,last four of SS#  but not the whole number  when i started asking questions they got mad or hung up. I called them back and they immediately wanted my SS# cuz i didn’t have an account number to give em. This is a total scam. looked them up on my states attorney general page  and they were there went by several names including Halsted, Advanced Capital, Global  , Dynamic, National Credit Adjusters it said that  crooks are buying up data from data brokers ,banks  credit card applications etc  so they have your inf and they call and seem legit and threaten to sue  or ask for payment or will call your neighbors or family and harass  you. Best advice is don’t answer calls from numbers you don’t know and don’t return voicemails.  I also called my city  attorney office and they told me If they dont send you a letter via certified mail then they are def  a scammer  because certified mail leaves a paper trail and its a federal crime to con people with mail so the scammers avoid it because they dint want the FBI to get involved
