This phone number belongs to a public utility named CallerID4U, Inc. They have entered into revenue sharing agreements with telemarketers who make illegal unsolicited telephone calls.  They profit directly from these outbound unsolicited telephone calls.

This appears to be a clear violation of a number of laws, including 16 C.F.R. §310.3(b) of the Federal Telemarketing Sales Rule.

Several calls this morning, at about 30 minute intervals ... all rolled to my answering machine, and call disconnected when machine kicked in.  Caller ID "name" displayed only the phone number; then the phone number again on the "number line"

Called my wireless (that's on the National Do Not Call List) with a prerecorded message "the FBI reports a break in every 15 seconds....".  I pushed 1 to find out who is was....and the dam morons hung up on me.  

Does anyone see the irony in the fact that they break the law by calling a number that's on the do not call list -- but when you call their number back, you get a recording about how they want to comply with the law by allowing you to push a button to get on their do not call list.  Idiots.  Total arrogant idiots.

When is the frickin' FCC going to do something about this?

I received this call March 4, 2013.  They left no message.  I am on the no call list.

Just another off shore bunch of baboons dialing for dollars - looking for victims to scam.

Once they have a live body on the line, they'll "qualify" you and then transfer you to a company local to your area who is paying these [***] for "leads" - not knowing that they are making millions of illegal ROBO-CALLS every month to get these "leads" - That's how these crooks make their money...one call at a time.

Then once you are "sold" to your local company, they'll try to make the appointment and the final sale.

This way the local company isn't caught making the actual illegal telemarketing call, they get the "customer / lead" and the criminal organization offshore gets paid for the "lead" whether you buy from the local guy or not.

Revenge?  If you have the free time, try to get "qualified" to be transferred and then set the appointment.  You needn't keep it - you can cancel it the next day. But in doing so you allow the local company to get charged for "the lead" and when enough of these bone heads realize that this type of crap doesn't generate any REAL business - perhaps the word will spread that this type of marketing doesn't work and they will quit paying these [***] for this type of service.  Or maybe on the flip side these morons buying these "leads" will go broke and thus be unable to afford this service any longer - either way the result (hopefully) is that the calls will slow down or even eventually stop. (GOD - wouldn't that be GREAT???)

You can google "telephone lead generation services" and see all of the players advertising their wares for sale to any baboon willing to pay them for it.    Look specifically for those that advertise "warm transfers" - that is EXACTLY the method that these illegal ROBO-CALLERS use to conduct their business.

The do not call list is useless. Try *60 for call blocking service.
