I receive a text from this number: 702-830-9831 say tha sam about Hollywood, Fox, a movie with JLo and stuff and I don't trust is.

GOT A TEXT MESSAGE FROM 702-747-3119 STATING THAT EMPIRE WAS LOOKING FOR ACTORS AND I MATCHED AND TO CALL 702-830-9831....

I also received a text from this number with this message, New Empire television show is seeking actors and you are matched. Do not miss it. Call for consideration. 702-830-9831I didn't call. It seems like a scam and I don't trust these types of emails and texts.

What creeps me out is that they have my name!

I'm pretty sure they got are name from something online I didn't call the number because why wouldn't they get real actors? Plus I'm pretty sure they are going to ask for money.

i called the number.  I had signed up for auditions in 2011, and there is going to be a show filmed in my area.  But since i haven't been on the sight in a few years, i would have to upgrade my profiles and pictures.  Didn't bother asking how much it would be.  I'm not sure if it is legit or not.  Go ahead and call.

Well have not called and sort of gave up on acting after last trailer was a Bust but what the hell--- see what they have to say, but if they ask for credit card info, then scam!

Scammers have been posting fake ads in craigslist claiming to offer jobs for extras (background players) in movies... and now it seems they're sending spam texts.
When you call this number, you are directed to one of two websites that charge for what turn out to be outdated casting lists.
They really just want you to sign up (with your credit card) for $1.99 for one week, then the auto-renew of $39 a month.

Casting360.com and Talent6.com are the same company, and both are a well known advance fee job scam. There are literally hundreds of online complaints and as many Better Business Bureau complaints.

The Los Angeles BBB as well as the National BBB give Casting360 and Talent6 an "F" rating. The LA BBB actually calls Talent6 a scam on the main website.

Casting360 and Talent6 are operated out of Moldova, a small former Soviet republic known today as a haven for credit card and identity theft.  Though Talent6 has a small administrative office in the US to comply with US incorporation rules, 100% of the operation is in Moldova, including the "Casting Agent" you spoke with.

In May 2010, Talent6 aka Casting360 was fined by the San Mateo, CA District Attorney $45,000 for false advertising, misleading ads and fraud.
