- miamisometimes the ask for Mrs. Houston, sometimes it's an automated message asking to press x option for help. We get 1-2 calls daily.
- ScottI get calls from this collection agency (machine) asking for Dallas Bloom. I have had this number for three years and have never heard of this person. I have asked them to stop calling but still get calls. They suck.

- 853-1716| 1 replyThis number 702-853-1716 has called at least 2 times a day for the last week. Here is the issue once I told them (Argon) this is a new number and I had no idea who the person they were looking for is, they started calling more, almost laughing as they told me the same old story.
I have asked them (Argon) to stop calling and be removed from any call list they control. Further, I filed an FCC do not call list complaint. Even being on the 'Do Not Call List' (donotcall.gov) for a little over year has not helped stop these harasser's.
This is not fact finding, nor collections this is pure harassment. I have started *57 after each call they make to have a trace put on the number and get the police involved. This is utterly ridiculous. However, after talking with my phone carrier they have convinced me to press charges on Conspiracy to engage in interstate telephone communications with the intent to annoy or harass.- Caller: argon

- Stop these scumbags| 1 replyThe culprit is Aargon Collection Agency, 3025 W Sahara, Las Vegas NV 89102. Other phone is 800-326-7118 and fax 800-293-9395. They also call from 702-853-1710 and 702-853-1716 and probably other similiar numbers.
Dont call them back! They hold worthless debts that they try to harass people into paying. Send the demand for proof and cease-comm letter to them. They will never respond unless they have fraudulent documents. Then if they do you can really have fun with them...sue for fun and profit!
FYI, a CA cannot call you and fail to identify itself or that it is a debt CA. Also they are required to send a written letter within 5 business days of the first contact (any phone call even with no message is a first contact) that states the nature of the debt and advises you of your rights. Also, it against federal law to call a wireless phone with an automated dialer (thus since all telemarketers and collectors use automated dialers they cant call your cell). Furthermore, no one can call you at work if you tell them that your company does not allow these types of calls (the types being unsolicited telemarketers and personal collectors). This CA is a brain-dead zombie debt collector that tries to harass people into paying debts that are too old or bankrupted or lack any proof that would be required in court. Screw um and sue um!!!. Look at naca.net for attys who will be happy to sue these scum for you.- Caller: Aargon Collection Agency

- TomSend them a letter with this text:
Any permission, whether expressed or implied, to use any telephone number associated with (me) for any purpose whatsoever is hereby revoked. Whatever business you believe you have with (me) is to be conducted in writing via US postal mail services.
It's legal and it works. You still have to address the problem, but it stops the harrassing telephone calls. - DJ| 1 replyI keep getting phone calls from these people and the name they use seems to be a combination of my maiden name and another name. I asked them what they want with this person and they do not live here and they refuse o tell me anything. They call every day. I am sick of them and wonder if something illegal is going on or if some one is trying to use my identity.

- Illegal Yes replies to DJThese calls ARE illegal IF you send this stupid collection agency a written notice to cease communication and demand proof of any debt and demand they are calling the right person. Could be an identity theft problem but THEY must provide proof first. Then you can object. Doing nothing will accomplish nothing. They will keep calling until YOU make them stop. Debt collection is out of control nowdays with CAs calling everyone they can think of to collect on debts that are not true, not validated, Bankrupted, too old to collect, wrong person, etc. They will call until YOU give up and pay or YOU fight back. Learn your rights and fight back and sue sue sue! The govt wont help you. Do it yourself.
- MEDon't know the person that they are trying to reach, but I get 2 calls everyday at the same time on my mobile phone. This has just started in the last few weeks, but it happens twice a day, everday like clockwork.

- Jim in Scottsdale, AZThey are now using another number: 720-853-1703. They have called my unlisted cell phone a dozen or so times now, asking for somebody I have never heard of. When I press the button to talk to somebocy (#6 on their voice menu) today, I was listening to music on hold for over 36 minutes before I gave up. These people could not care less about violating Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. What a**holes.

- CJ from OregonI just checked the voicemail on a old cell phone that I keep around and active in case my new phone craps out. Anyway although the recorded message states the name of the company Argon and that it is a attempt to collect a dept. I know for a fact (through having my credit checked when opening a bank account) that I have paid off all outstanding debts. This is the first time this company has ever called me so I thought I would post the number that they gave me to call as I do not see it listed here. It is (from what I can tell of the highly garbled voicemail message) 1-800-990-4759. Just to reirrterate what someone else already said and to throw in my two cents if you tell a crediter and or debt collector to cease calling either by mail, email, or verbally over the phone from what I understand and have read they by law have to cease failure to stop calling after being told to cease is grounds for lawsuit and you can report them to the Better Business Bearu (sp). If enough people report a company for harassment etc the business can have there license revoked. Oh and Happy New Year all.

- MargaretI just got a phone call from 702-853-1702, also Argon. I did get through, asked them why my cell phone number was receiving a phone call from a debt collector when I have no debt. They asked me for my name, which I refused to give them but I gave them my cell phone number since they already had it. They told me they would delete it from their system and I told them I expected no more phone calls from them so we shall see.

thanks for your informative post.
Yes, it is spelled Aargon, and yes, they use many different dialer numbers. I have received (702) and this one recently, (866)999-6445 (a recorded message saying the call is from aargon and this is an attempt to collect a debt., select blah, blah..), on my cell phone. Often.
They have a web site, I believe it's http://aargonfunding.com/
I just Silence these numbers, do not answer, because they do not follow the "do not call" protocol.
and I don't currently have any outstanding debt .
