When asked who he is, he says with a stereotypical Asian accent that he is an IRS agent. When asked to not call back, he starts screaming like a warlord.

She said she was from the  U S Dept of Treasury. Said she had legal documents that I was involved with tax fraud. If I did not call back,it was left on my answering machine, that I would be in a "legal mess". Foreign lady was speaking.

Wow....have gotten 2 calls from this number on my machine today.

There is a widespread IRS (or CRA) or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both USA and Canadian residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

Stated she was with legal affairs of treasury, IRS and calling about tax fraud involving our name. Left message on answering machine threatening to call sheriff about us and recommended we retain an attorney.

Received a "very urgent"  message from  703-349-0503. I did not call back but received an actual call a few  hours  later asking for  my husband.  When I explained that he  was not in,  the caller rudely hung up without saying a word so I called right back. The guy that just called answered and I called him out on hanging up. He said he was Officer Shawn Williams, Agent # 41960, from the IRS, that the matter was highly confidential and he could not give me any other  information just to have my husband call him back ASAP

Just rec called, 12:37 pm on cell number, she left a nasty message saying she was from the IRS.
Something about urgent, fraud, and taxes... did not answer the call.

A woman with an Indian or Pakastani accent said she was calling from the US treasury, and that I or my lawyer should call this number right away.

This is the scam that's been reported on the news.  Total fraud!
