They are a collection agency with no claim on your money

Called my cell without calling regular number.  Did not answer.

Left a message saying West Asset Management. Didn't say what it was about. I'm not in any collections as far as I know.

West Asset Mgmt. Left a vmail asking for a call back to 888.560.0052. When i called back, the receptionist at the number states they are in the NY area.

30min or so later, i get a call that hangs up. The number that called is 7033980017 (Virginia)

They called my work number.

THEY WERE LOOKING FOR A PERSON NAMED SHERRY MARTIN. DO THESE PEOPLE HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO DO BUT DIAL NUMBERS AND MAKE UP NAMES?

West Asset Management works for the Dept. of Ed on defaulted student loans, if that rings a bell....

Called asking to speak with Human Resources to verify employement. Would not give name of person they wanted to verify. Rattled off SS#, and when I asked for a name to go along with it, said they needed to speak with a manager or someone in charge. She basically hung up on me when I told her that I was an owner of the company.

Kevin, how do you know they are collections for defaulted student loans? Are they legit and legal or just saying they work for Dept of Ed?  Nowadays, anyone can print up false anything and send it out and get trackphones or go phone and tele numbers and have a fake company name to steal from people.  It happens every day and possibly right this second.  

So, how do you know this is the real deal?

Hi, best check your credit to make sure no one is using your id or info.  I had it happen to me and it hurt my credit.  Go online and get your CR.

We get calls from these people, too. 703-398-0017 We get many collections calls for people who must have had our number EIGHT YEARS AGO. We are not in debt trouble (nothing out of the ordinary at least) and we wrote checks for our kids college, no loans. How do we get them to stop?  If they are a legitimate company why do they use harassment as a form of business?

Called a cell number. I told them it was a cell number and to not call the number any more. I recognized the person's voice and name "Mrs Miller" (yeh, right!) from a call I took on my land line about a month ago. The conversation with "Mrs Miller" was suspect from the beginning...either a fraud or a collection agency (their tactics are the same). My land line and cell is used for business. I told "Mrs Miller" the land line number was a business and not to call. Still calls come from various caller IDs ignorning my request of them not to call. They call about 4 times a day from various numbers; I keep track. The land line is not in my name. I call this harrasment.

Call from an Amy asked for my wife I knew this was a collection agency by the way she wouldnt give the name of the company.  Told her we are filing bankruptcy and she said her is the number again, I said listen &^%$$# dont call her again and she said i dont care give her the number i told her to get a life and hung up.  I called back asked for a supervisor and they refused to let me talk to one.  Real piece of work these people are
