Do not hold your breath waiting for that to happen!
For any given area code there are 10 Million "spoofable" numbers that scammers can use, and there are 1000 "spoofable" area codes.  That means that there are 10 Billion different numbers that can be spoofed on your Caller ID display'  This is far more numbers than can actually be given out to phone service subscribers (since many of those 10 Billion numbers do not adhere to the rules that define a valid phone number in North America), but that does not matter to the scammers who only care that their actual phone number does not appear when they call.  (For fun, put 000-000-0000 into the search box on this page, you will find that there are nearly 400 pages of reports from people "called" by a number that cannot exist, but as I stated, scammers do not care if they spoof a real number or not.)

Oh, if they ever do run through all the numbers, they will just start over.
