Total scam...wanting money for a destroyed computer after his daughter broke it when talking on POF. Wants money sent to an address in Texas and will text the address.

I confirm, North carolina, the guy is saying the same thing, the laptop was broken, wife is in the hospital, I need the money to replace the laptop,

Extortion is a CRIME!  Report them to your local law enforcement!  This is another new number coming out of the Carolinas!  Block the number.

This was the one being run from prison, wasn't it?  They have been quiet for about 4-5 months.  Guess they are gearing up again.

It seems the prisoners in Texas have started as well, I have seen at least two posts in the last month with Texas phone numbers.

Guy called threatening that I was talking to his underage daughter on PoF. Said he was investigating with a private investigator. Scam?

Well, have you read the other posts because I think that was already answered.

It really scared me.  Why would someone try to frame someone like this?

Well the obvious answer would be money.

I'm sorry for double posting. But that scared me. I feel anxious like I did something wrong PoF is sketchy as is but I was talking to this Serina profile and they asked me for my number, I gave them it then they text we talked about normal stuff and college, she mentioned that she was 17 then all of a sudden nudes, I had no intention on talking to them after that point and deleted the messages. Today I blocked that number after the NC number called me and searching it brought me here. Am I in the wrong?

If PoF is "sketchy" maybe you shouldn't be on it. And what exactly are you asking if you're "in the wrong" about?

Just got the same bs extortion scam from POF, gets you off the site to text after a while of messaging. Talk about the normal college bs and said she was 17 going on 18 in two weeks and then the number sent nudes. This was the message I received before the nudes were sent to me.

“I live with my parents for now here in Toledo, but I have an apartment near the University of Toledo where I will be attending college this upcoming semester. However I'm just her spending time with my family till shortly after my eighteenth birthday next month then I will be going to my apartment.  I will major in communication and minor in journalism hun. I'm aiming to own my own company one day. I .....so why are you single you mind I ask?  And are you religious?”

For [***] and giggles, called the guy back after searching the phone number and called him out on all the bs and the laptop scams and and the faded tattoo that was on the girl in the pics I received (that I didn’t want) and he hung up

Can confirm just happened to me. Same story

SAME exact scam happened to me this weekend.

Same thing happened to me, I didn't answer the call but they texted me doing pretty much the same thing.  I told him a quick google search show he is a scammer and he might want to change his number.  He texted back say he was going to change his number.  LoL
