It calls several times per day since last week and does not leave any message.

Same as above.  Calls several times per day with calls as early as 8:30am and as late as 9:48pm . . . give me a break . . . no messages left.

The message I get is that it is Statistics Canada. They ask me to please call  877-253-4904 and quote an ID# which is my phone number. When you call the toll-free number you get a recording "this is the Sturgeon Falls Stats Canada office, please leave a message." I don't leave a message.

Numerous calls at every hour of day/night with no message ever left. Answered once, and they claimed to be Stats Canada doing a charity survey, that I have been picked and 'can't be replaced' by having them call someone else - very pushy. I told them I would consider participating and they asked when they could call back, I said I was on a rush/overtime project and to call next month, they said ok, yet the calls still come before then. The nature of the caller and the described survey and sample questions they gave me leads me to be suspiscious of it being legit.

I have received the same calls. It's annoying when I'm too busy, however my house is participating in the survey.

keeps phoning here @ odd times.

got home at around 10 p.m. and had a call on my phone from GOCGDC, i called back and they said they were from service canada and asked for my social insurance #, blonde like i am i gave it to them then they said it wasn't for me. They asked if anyone else was using the same phone as me and i said yes. So my hubby took over the phone and asked him why goverment of canada was open so late, the guy said that the office was closing at 11 (hello, i mean the clock strikes 4:30 and the goverment runs). The phone #  was 1-800-931-1026

I have got this call twice now Ican't call the number back they left no messages if someone figures out how get these people to screw off let me now

I just got phone calls from this GOCGDC this freakin morning at 4:20 am and every five minutes after that!  When I answered all I got was this beeping sound, so I would hang up and five minutes later they would call again, I got so fed up I unplugged my phone line.  The number they use was 613-943-0573.

GOT A CALL AROUND 9PM....ASKING FOR A BOARDER THAT NO LONGER RESIDED AT THIS RESIDENCE. WHEN THEY CALLED I ASKED IF IT WAS CONCERNING A SURVEY THEY SAID NO AND THAT THEY REALLY NEEDED TO GET AHOLD OF THIS BOARDER, ASKING FOR CONTACT INFORMATION OR ADDRESS FOR THIS PERSON. FOUND IT STRANGE OTHERS SAY IT WAS FOR A STAT CANADA SURVEY WHEN THIS PERSON FROM 705 753 4888 SAID IT WASN'T.....VERY ODD...WOULDN'T GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!

They want to talk to my 13 year old.  What parent is going to let their 13 yo talk to a stranger like that?

they say they are Stats Canada, i spoke to them this morning and asked them if i have the option not to answer any of the questions; they said okay and noted "call refused" - i respect Stats Canada but not sure if they really are Stats Canada, especially when they asked me for my name and if this number a cell or a home phone...

Received a call from phone # 613-944-3422. Caller ID: GOCGDC.
Figured if they could call and not leave a message, so could I. I called back asking for Elizabeth (just to see who would answer). Person said which Elizabeth, then told me there were no Elizabeths there but that his name was Eli.
Why would the ID be GOCGDC? It definitely was not Stats Can. It was just some guy who answered...

I read all the postings...Good information. I got a call during regular hrs. I work from home  but I answer picky calls. Caller-ID said GOC-GDC. Hell with them, they need to talk to me they have to leave a message and wait for me to call back, but they don't leave message. Can't I play in return?

Called regarding Public health survey. had called once before but didnt answer. Looked up the number and it is a valid phone number from Stats Canada.

Sturgeon Falls : 705-753-4888

Got a call from 1-705-753-4888 (Sturgeon Falls Stats Can Regional Office), they left a voice msg telling me to call 1-800-461-1662 which happens to be the Ontario Stats Can Regional office. It seems legit, but why call from Sturgeon Falls only to have me call the Ontario office? The voice msg, left office hours as well, with closing hours at 9:30 pm on some days.
